Knowing God's Will For
My Life
These verse will help you know what God's will is for your life.
Colossians 1:9-12 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease
to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will
in all wisdom and spiritual understanding 10 That ye might walk worthy of the
Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the
knowledge of God 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious
power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness 12 Giving thanks unto
the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the
saints in light:
Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with
the Spirit;
1. To continue to be in God's will and not fall or crawl off the altar. We must
learn not to conform to this world but to conform to God's way.
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your
reasonable service.2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2. We must learn to commit our ways unto the Lord for God will give us the desires
of our heart when we do this. God wants us to do this joyfully not as it being a task.
But do it with the willingness of our hearts.
Psalms 37:4-5  Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the
desires of thine heart.  5  Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and
he shall bring it to pass.
Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I
will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalms 143:8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do
I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto
thee.
3. Counsel From Christians
Colossians 4:17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast
received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
1 Thessalonians 2:12That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you
unto his kingdom and glory.
1 Thessalonians 4:9-12 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write
unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.10 And
indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we
beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more 11 And that ye study to
be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we
commanded you 12That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without,
and that ye may have lack of nothing.
4. Sometimes Circumstances
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the
abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the
messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For
this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said
unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the
power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in
reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for
when I am weak, then am I strong.
5. Assurance of Peace
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth,
give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid
.
Isaiah 26:3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because
he trusteth in thee.
6. Ask God to close and prevent doors that are not the right ones.
Proverbs 3:5-6& Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine
own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy
paths.
7. Examples of not being in God's will
Jonah - ran from the Lord
Saul disobeyed God when he offer a sacrifice with animals he was to destroy.
David - became out of God's will when he committed adultery.
8. Results of being in God's will
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and
all these things shall be added unto you.
Proverbs 3:9-10 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of
all thine increase 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall
burst out with new wine.
