Lordship Of Jesus Christ
Is Jesus really Lord of my Life?
1.Christ's Authority over angels.
Hebrews 1:4-14 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by
inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5 For unto which of the
angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. And
again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son. 6 And again, when he
bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God
worship him. 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his
ministers a flame of fire. 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for
ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou
hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath
anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.10 And, Thou, Lord, in
the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the
works of thine hands 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall
wax old as doth a garment 12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they
shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.13 But to
which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine
enemies thy footstool? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to
minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
2.Christ's authority over Satan and death.
Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood,
he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might
destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
3.Christ's authority over nature.
Matthew 8:23-27  And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed
him.  24  And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the
ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 25 And his disciples came
to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto
them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the
winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 27 But the men marvelled,
saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
4.Christ's lordship in going
Luke 9:59-62 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me
first to go and bury my father. 60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their
dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. 61And another also said, Lord,
I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my
house.62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough,
and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
5. Christ's lordship in
giving
2 Corinthians 8:9  For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though
he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty
might be rich.
2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him
give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Proverbs 3:9-10 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of
all thine increase 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses
shall burst out with new wine.
6. Christ's lordship in Speaking:
2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph
in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
7.Christ's lordship in family:
Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife,
and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be
my disciple.
8. Christ's lordship over me:
Luke 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot
be my disciple.
9. Christ's lordship over possessions
Luke 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he
hath, he cannot be my disciple.
Now Lord once you are Lord of all and have authority over all what would you have
me to do?
Acts 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to
do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told
thee what thou must do.
We must follow Christ is what we must do and this should be our response.
Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who
will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
