The Key to living a Spirit-filled Christian life is Jesus Christ in the center as the center and
Lord of all we do. With Christ in control, life is balanced and effective. The wheel illustrates
this Christ-centered life
1.Christ the center:
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in
me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who
loved me, and gave himself for me.
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the
same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this
mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
2.Obedience to Christ:
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me:
and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest
myself to him.
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
3. The Word:
1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow
thereby:
2 Timothy 3:16-17; All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness 17 That the man of
God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate
therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written
therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success.
4.Pray:
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall
be opened unto you:
Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.7 And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ
Jesus.
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it
shall be done unto you.
5.Fellowship:
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in
the midst of them.
Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good
works 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may
have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son
Jesus Christ.
6.Witnessing:
Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God
unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an
answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness
and fear:
Just as driving force in a wheel come from the hub; so the power to live the Christian life
comes from Jesus being the Center. He lives in us in the Person of the Holy Spirit. With the
express purpose of glorifying Christ. The rim represents the Christian responding to Christ?s
Lordship through wholehearted, day by day obedience to him.
The spokes show the means by which Christ's power becomes operative in our lives. We
maintain personal contact with God through the vertical spokes--the Word and pray. The
word is our spiritual food, as will as our sword for spiritual battle. It is our road map.
The opposite this is the spoke representing Pray. Through pray we have direct
communication with our heavenly Father. And receive provisions for our needs. As we pray
we show our dependence upon and trust in Him.
The horizontal spoke concerns our relationship to people-- believers, through Christian
fellowship; and unbelievers, through witnessing. Fellowship center around, the Lord Jesus
Christ provides the mutual encouragement, admonition and stimulation we all need.
The first three spokes prepare us for passing on to others all that we have received from the
Lord. This is accomplished through Witnessing, sharing our own experience of Christ
declaring and explaining the Gospel and God?s power to save us.
