Matthew 2:13-23 KJV
(13)  And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the
Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take
the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou
there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child
to destroy him.
(14)  When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by
night, and departed into Egypt:
(15)  And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be
fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Out of Egypt have I called my son.
(16)  Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise
men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the
children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof,
from two years old and under, according to the time which he
had diligently enquired of the wise men.
(17)  Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the
prophet, saying,
(18)  In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and
weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children,
and would not be comforted, because they are not.
(19)  But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord
appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
(20)  Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and
go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the
young child's life.
(21)  And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and
came into the land of Israel.
(22)  But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the
room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither:
notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned
aside into the parts of Galilee:
(23)  And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it
might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be
called a Nazarene.

Today is Christmas Eve and whether your mood is filled with
Yule tide cheer or one is upset with the state of world affairs,
wishing for peace on earth good will toward all. We live in an
imperfect society. Obama career for those who had insurance or
had things worked out before insurance with their doctors are
now looming with frustration of insurance. Sweet assurance of
faith in Christ is safer then our global economy and the next
slaughter of innocent with insurance. After all the last time
democrats tried to fix the health care system, people struggled
because of all the red tape involved. Yet healthcare from national
point of view is a necessary evil. It supposedly allows those
needing a doctor to get one. Yet it will not fix everything or save
every life. The ticking time bomb of Herod’s decision to kill all the
baby boys of certain age based on when the information when
the star of the wise men appeared in the east. Based on the fact
they had yet to return from their journey to tell where this child
was, cause the king to be angry. To send a decree to kill children
of two and under in Bethlehem.

Women weeping for their children came to pass as prophesied.
Yet it was these innocent tears one has to ask is the birth of the
king worth it to Israel? It not to be meant in anger, but in truth
and not mockery. After all these innocent babies were born to
women that would have more or non at all. They were having to
sacrifice what was precious and dear to them because of the
Messiah birth, yet it was not God’s fault it happened, it was a
wicked kings decision. Years and years ago I can remember
cases coming forth of blaming others for others creative style,
like heavy metal music and bugs bunny for violence in the USA.
Yet these two influence children and teens, it still individual
choice to be violent. Two weeks ago another school shooting
took place in Colorado with less loss of life then times before,
yet it is a reminder of death on the innocent, with psychologist
looking for a root caused of it, never blaming the devil.

We can not escape evil of this world in the since how it effects
our minds, our moods, our emotions or life. Yet God will protect
His Will. His eternal plan from destruction. Herod was after the
young child, and God gave Joseph a dream that told Him to go to
Egypt. Joseph got up that very night and took his young family,
never second guessing the will of God. Joseph and Mary would
remain in Egypt until it was safe to return and to continue the
fulfillment of prophesy that Jesus would be called a Nazarene.
God protection to complete His will is given to all  that are
following the will of God, until that plan runs out. Yet it does not
run out with death for a believer, for believer continues to live in
heaven with His maker until Christ return to restore the kingdom
of God. Christ Jesus was resurrected His life continued, not only
with the resurrection but the ascent into heaven and one day His
return.

God protection does not mean you will not experience things
common to man. Paul was beaten and stoned both, and yet also
experienced being bitten by poisonous viper and not dying from
it. Did all three events hurt, I do not doubt it did. Yet Paul journey
and protection to speak to government leaders was just that, for
he was on his way to Rome as political prisoner when he got bit
by the snake, because of a ship wreck.

Christ journey was one of escape instead of the pain, until the
cross, He spoke to leaders, taught in the temple. His journey to
the cross having only the suffering of a weakened and tired body
of a healthy man. The day they stripped him and beat him, and
mocked him was the day he felt all the physical suffering of injury
to the flesh. Beaten with the a whip with nine cords and bones
sewed in the end of each cord to rip the flesh as he was beaten.

Christ would fight the devil more then once and win every time.
From the protection to Egypt to Nazareth to the temptation of
Jesus in the wilderness and later the resurrection, that devil is
defeated every time. The point is no matter what we go through
in life, Christ will take us through it, knowing first hand the devil is
defeat able on earth, ye He needed no one to tell him, but He
needed to show the world. The more we allow evil the less
protection we have in our society. God protection does not mean
no one will get physically hurt, but that we must be willing to
stand tall against evil.

Israel lost children more then once because of evil leaders. Yet
God was always willing to fight for His people. This spiritual war
was won at the cross for all mankind. God protection in place
through the suffering and resurrection of His Son. Where are you
today? Are you seeking God’s protection? Are you resting in the
fact nothing will happened today to disable you from doing the
will of God in your life? God will protect you for His purpose,
even if it means you have to suffer in the process.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for your gift of protection in all
our lives. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
