Are You Standing In Hot Coals?
Lesson Eighteen: by turtle

Over the years I have meet different types of people. Most people can grasp that Jesus is the Son of God, even those that do
not accept Christ as Lord, believe Jesus is the Son of God. There were three that beared witness to this fact.

1 John 5:7-9 KJV
(7)  For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
(8)  And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
(9)  If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of
his Son.

God bore witness of His Son at the time of His baptism. Let’s look at Mark record.

Mark 1:9-11 KJV
(9)  And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
(10)  And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon
him:
(11)  And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

This is a little deep, but I hope I clarify will enough in my explanation. God the Father speaks from heaven and the Holy
Spirit descends like a dove. God word became flesh in John 1:14. We know this is a reference to the Son of God. Before
Christ was the Son of God He was the word of God. Yet here in this passage we see the Word of God being spoken from
heaven as well as the Spirit of God descending. We know that the Holy Spirit is God the Father. Luke 1:35. Yet when we get
to the point of the blood testifying we need another verse.

John 19:33-37 KJV
(33)  But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
(34)  But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
(35)  And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
(36)  For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
(37)  And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

The blood of Christ testified of who He is. Verse 35 is a reference to  this passage in Zechariah.

Zechariah 12:10 KJV
(10)  And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications:
and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and
shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Also to prove a point that the Son of God is also God, take a look at this next verse.

Zechariah 13:7 KJV
(7)  Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the
shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.

Nazis believe they can clone. Make identical people, yet they realize this really is impossible, due to genetic changes due to
climate and other factors. How could God clone Himself in the image of His Son. God is the only one that is the same
yesterday today and forever. It is spoken in Hebrews and well as in Isaiah the fact that God does not change. Christ is the
clone of God the Father in perfect form. However no matter what medical science does there is no perfect identical creature.
DNA would have to be a perfect match and even twins are not always a perfect match in every way. Christ and God the
Father and Holy Spirit are a perfect match. God is perfect
in everyway. It is when we fail to see Christ the same as God the Father yet a different person in the since of visibility we fail
to acknowledge the wonder working power of God. Man will never be able to do a complete duplicate in every aspect
including the lab, for bodies, cells are not God. And no matter what man says, one fails to see the human factor in the
scientific realm. However in the God factor it is
possible.

Hebrews 5:9 KJV
(9)  And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Christ was made perfect. He came to set example for us on how to live.

John 13:14-16 KJV
(14)  If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
(15)  For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
(16)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent
him.

And this next verse Paul sums up our duty. Christ first state in the above verse we were to serve one another. Yet Paul
clarifies this even more in his letter to Timothy.

1 Timothy 4:11-16 KJV
(11)  These things command and teach.
(12)  Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in
faith, in purity.
(13)  Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
(14)  Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
(15)  Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
(16)  Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them
that hear thee.

Now lets get back on target. Let’s go back to I John 5. And if anyone does not believe in the Son of God He is a liar. In
other word a person that does not recognize who Christ is does not speak the truth. He is a devil.

1 John 5:9-13 KJV
(9)  If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of
his Son.
(10)  He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar;
because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
(11)  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
(12)  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
(13)  These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have
eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

There are groups that believe Jesus is the Son of God but do not believe that He is God. It is hard for many to make the
connection of who Christ truly is. One has to do some digging to understand. And what is plainly and clearly seen is Christ is
the Son of God. What is also clear is Jesus is God second person of the Trinity. Fully God. I want to continue with this
though Of Jesus being God by reminding you of this verse.

Hebrews 1:8 KJV
(8)  But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy
kingdom.

Jehovah is Lord He is the one that sits in the flesh on the left of Christ who sits on the right on the throne. The Holy Spirit is
around the throne. One must also understand that the Holy Spirit intercedes for a believer and what ever we ask in the name
of Jesus will be granted if it is according to His will.

1 John 5:14-21 KJV
(14)  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
(15)  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
(16)  If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not
unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
(17)  All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
(18)  We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked
one toucheth him not.
(19)  And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
(20)  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true,
and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
(21)  Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

And to finish this chapter off verse 20 Jesus is the true God and eternal life. Keep away from worshipping false gods. This
clearly and simply shows Jesus is God though He is also the Son. And hopefully what you will grasp is Jesus is the second
person of the triune Godhead. If you keep all these verse inline, if you ever meet the devil you will know it, because what He
claims will not line up with the word of God. His actions and his lies will be proven. Hold on to the word of God and hold on
strong, I can not save you, neither can anyone, but Jesus. Someone pointing to another is not of God.
