Are You Standing In Hot Coals?
Lesson Twenty-one: by turtle

Revelation 2:8-17 KJV
(8)  And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
(9)  I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are
not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
(10)  Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall
have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
(11)  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
(12)  And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
(13)  I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith,
even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
(14)  But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a
stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
(15)  So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
(16)  Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
(17)  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna,
and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Today we are going to look at two churches. One church being Smyrna and the other being Pergamos. One of the greatest problems in the
church world even today, is those that claim to be Christians and are not. Some groups are easily spotted. There actions and their deeds speak
louder then words. Then there are churches that know who Satan is.and yet they tolerate practices of false prophets. We still see this in the
church world. Some people say they are Jews and they are not. Meaning what exactly one might ask.

Revelation 2:9 KJV
(9)  I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are
not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

There are people in the church world even today that say that they are believers in God and are not. There is a difference in people knowing
not the Savior by ignorance and those knowing who the Savior is and denying Him. Jesus is the Savior, the light of the world. He is the
everlasting Lord. There are those that deny the deity of Christ. In other words never recognizing who Jesus is. Jesus is the Word that became
flesh and also was the first born of God. What a title.

John 1:1 KJV
(1)  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Colossians 1:15-19 KJV
(15)  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
(16)  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions,
or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
(17)  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
(18)  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the
preeminence.
(19)  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell;

Important note to note in the verse above in Colossians is that last verse where it speaks of the fullness of God. I been discussing this thing with
a group of friends. And sometimes what is discussed fits in nicely into what I am working on. At other times it just jargon. In other words we
get blind sided by words. Words that have life in them, but at the moment they seem unrevealing. God’s word is a great mystery to us, but yet
we understand that the word gives life for the word of God is Jesus. In Christ the fullness of the Godhead lives and reigns. Jesus words spoke
life, He was the Son of God, He also is God in the flesh.

1 John 4:2-3 KJV
(2)  Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
(3)  And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have
heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Is there any reference to these two churches other then Revelations. It is important for us not to just study each church, but to study each letter
to the seven churches Paul wrote to. And best to address their issues individually. John seems to be addressing the churches of a region and
Paul is address individual churches he was in care of. There are twelve apostles and each would of started churches and groups. Some would
call these groups cell groups today. There is nothing wrong with working with individuals one on one. Or even working on with a larger group.
However one needs to recognize the universal church world to keep from becoming an agent of the devil. Independent groups are good, but
without fellowship with other groups you lack something important. The ability to stay focus on God and not allowing yourself to be exalted.
To be in leadership is not to be god or God. Leadership is about servant hood. When a person gets to big for their britches they loose focus on
what being a servant for Jesus is about. That is why a council of church leadership is important to govern little churches. It also leaders to come
in together in times of trouble. Power hungry individuals often take advantage of these situations. They milk people of money and finances.
They use trickery like false prophesies to persuade individuals to accept them as a type of god. It saddens me to see this in the church world.
To see someone take millions of dollars to rip off people in need. It is a distress. However God is good and He loves His people and even when
the devil rages war, we know that God is still going to have victory. True prophesy comes with true leaderships that are willing to serve.
Fellowmen and woman make sure you know what type of church you serve in, whether it be of God or of the devil.
