God/Father of Those Who Fear Him.
Lesson Thirteen: by turtle

Today we are going to talk about God being all knowing. This can be a sticky subject,
because it is also interferes with the concept of freedom of choice. The problem of an all
knowing God concept is how then if he knows are we given a freedom to choose. Some
struggle with the fact that God knew Rebekah would have twin boys and knew the destiny
of both.

Genesis 25:22-23 KJV
(22)  And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I
thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.
(23)  And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of
people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the
other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

God knows the heart of man before he/she is born.

Psalms 139:15 KJV
(15)  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously
wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Jeremiah 1:5 KJV
(5)  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the
womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

God has a purpose for each and everyone of us. This is a very easy concept to
understand. But does that mean God controls everything I do. The answer is no in one
sense and yes in another. God divine plan for our life must be fulfilled, but it is our
choice whether we willing serve the Lord or not. Jacob the younger brother of Esau the
twin boys in Genesis above., wrestled through out his life in his relationship with God. No
different then many of us do today. Each human in the Bible seem to wrestle whether to
obey God or not. Some lived extraordinary lives, but even so it was a choice whether to
submit to God or not.

God raised up Gideon for a particular battle, in the life of the Israelite nation. Yet he
seem to go back to his way of life when His job was done. Still it was a choice whether to
follow or not. The story can be found starting in Judges 6:11. I challenge you to read the
story.  Moses in Exodus through Deuteronomy made a choice to follow God. He
struggled with his ability and God given ability. He had to learn that His ability was given
by God and He did not own God's power.

Solomon was a great king in His day and time. He had many riches, but struggled with
power. He was so wealthy he could buy anything and gain anything his heart desired. By
the end of his life, he had followed his own lust to the point many scholars wonder what
the fate of Solomon's spiritual life. David, Solomon's father, was a great king also, but
his heart was fixed on doing the right thing through out his life. It did not make him
perfect. When he sinned by stealing another man's wife, God dealt with his heart and sent
him a prophet to speak to him.

Though God puts people in power and in leadership, it does not mean they always do the
right thing. So God design on us is to give us a spiritual choice. He knows our hearts and
knows how to harden and soften it. He harden the pharaoh heart in Egypt. He harden
Israel's heart when Christ came, but not all hearts we hard when Christ came. Many
Israelites turned and believed on Jesus. Many came to know Christ after He rose from
the dead.

Choice is given to us and God still is all knowledge.

1 Corinthians 1:26-28 KJV
(26)  For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not
many mighty, not many noble, are called:
(27)  But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God
hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
(28)  And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea,
and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

Take time to look at different Bible characters and see how they struggled wish choice we
talked about today. Take a look at God intercession in man's life as well. Next week we
are going to pick up this subject again on God knowledge, but we are going to be looking
at wisdom.
