John 3:22-36 KJV
22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
24 For John was not yet cast into prison.
25 Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.
26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth,
and all men come to him.
27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the
bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Are you thirsty? Simple fact is Christ should of ignored the women at the well based on the fact she was a Samaritan and a women. Samaritans
were look down upon in those days because they were mixed with other tribes of people. Jews were a segregated group of people. Another thing
Christ took time to talk to a women. That was not normal because women were considered property. So Jesus broke two culture rules in one
setting. The point of this message in John is God is no respecter of persons.
God loves all people. Christ demonstrated this through out His ministry. Christ wanted to offer her salvation, despite who she was or what she
had done. She had been married to five husband and the man she lived with was nott her husband. But Christ knowing this still took time to talk
with her. Do we judge someone based on what we know about them or do we offer to share the free gift of salvation through Christ. People are
searching for the Messiah just like this women was and when she found Jesus she wanted to share it with all that she knew. She ran back to share
with them that she found the Messiah. The men came out to see what was going on and also out of curiosity because of what the women had said.
There was rejoicing that night because salvation had come to them.
Do we hold back from sharing based on someone background or do we move out in love just like Christ did? Do we let those around us influence
who we talk too?. If our desire is to be like Christ we need to do has He did and not shy away from people that are different then us. God loves
all people even those we would consider unlovable. He died for us, He also died for them. No one deserved God free gift. It was given to all that
would receive it.
