| Lesson 82: The Law of The Old That is Covered in the New Testament: Thievery Of The Soul 4/14/2014 by turtle Matthew 6:19-21 KJV (19) Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: (20) But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: (21) For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The human conditioning is something we do not want to think or be reminded of in the sense of traditions of people, but various traditions of people can rob the soul. It is natural for people to collect and gather different things they like, enjoy and not least need to survive in this world. Humans are like squirrels when they gather nuts for winter that must last through most of spring. How does a squirrel know how much food to store and how to store it, is the animal conditioning and training of his mother who taught him for several years before chasing her baby from her nest and/ or animal instinct built in by God. The facts remain we all are creatures of habit. If our worship style is the same as our heathenistic practice then we are worshippers of habit and not always God. No change from heathenistic form of worship, then there is no change in how we honor God. We do what natural to our surroundings and not what the Spirit of God says. The devil seeks to destroy the church world by heathenistic legalism, God wants to use legalism to edify the church, because it express a form and tradition of worship that speaks of who He is. Devil wants to use tradition to numb the mind and soul to boredom and deception of the spirit. God wants to move by His Spirit on a people that will listen and obey His voice. How does one learn to hear God. Learning the ways of God and not the traditions of man. Some would say that walking after Spirit and not of the flesh. Yet it goes a step further by reading of what old timers experienced of faith, who seen the miracles and wonders of God verse our generation who claim God but lack the sight of the power of God. To know God never changes means, the consistence of what the Spirit moves us to do verse what is called the spirit, but is not in accordance to God’s word is a lie. If what the Bible says is true and you believe that, then how God works is not going to change, but only be a confirmation in your life, despite where we are in life. If we are going to store up God’s word in our heart, it needs to be both Spirit and the Word of God. If we going to seek the things of God it needs to be both Spirit and the Word. Yet it is more, it is learning the difference between the thief and God. To know the voice and the wisdom of God that He bestows on the believer, so we are in tuned to the word of God. Being in tune with God’s Spirit takes time, it is not overnight success, because of human conditioning. Yet if you take the time to store the nuts of spiritual truth, you do not have to worry about storing up things of the devil. Do not have to worry about what you will dine on when your eyes and ears no longer work like they should. The Spirit and the Word will continue in the heart. The things that matter most will remain and evil will no longer have a foothold of power in your life. Devil can not longer steal. Dear Heavenly Father help us to understand that we need to be like squirrels storing up the things of heaven that can not be stolen from us.
