| Lesson 84: The Law of The Old That is Covered in the New Testament: In The Cold 4/16/2014 by turtle30c John 18:15-22 KJV (15) And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest. (16) But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter. (17) Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not. (18) And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself. (19) The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine. (20) Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing. (21) Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said. (22) And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so? I got to looking at this passage this morning. Frustrated that I have not been able to do regular updates the past few days. The problem occurs when things get updates in the tech world at yahoo. No matter how synchronize with new software is there going to be an error sooner or later. Here is my point. Nothing is ever perfect. And with there always going to be imperfect until the return of Christ. Yet before He was nailed to the cross, there was compassion for Peter who stood in the cold night air following Jesus. Most probably miss the portion of the disciple leaving and one enter in. Judas probably was the one leaving the scenes of Jesus’ trial before the religious leaders at night. Yet there was Peter who stood at the door, not entering. No doubt Judas told the doorkeeper that Jesus’ disciple. And Peter perhaps stood at the door saying no, I am not. Also betraying Jesus for Judas sake, and to protect himself. This denial taking place prophesied by Jesus. This denial of standing at the door but looking in at the warmth of the fire. How many of us want the warmth of the world, but feel the outcastness, because we worship Jesus. To deny gives one comfort of the fire of the world for a time, but bring everlasting torment and shame. There is a point his morning. The enemy comes by ever so close, even seeing his presents. Yet we know that God’s protection in the storms in the middle of the night. Peter was going through a storm he would never forget, especially when he found grace in which to stand. Judas found no grace, because he did not seek Jesus but the religious leaders. He sought the wrong people who would not forgive, only wanted revenge. Dear Heavenly Father help us to know sometimes our mistakes are for a purpose. If nothing more to give the enemy one last chance to repent in order to receive forgiveness. In Jesus precious name, Amen. http://www.turtle30cshell.com _ |
