| Lesson 60: The Law Of The Old Testament That Is Covered In The New Testament: Gifts To Your Children 3/23/2014 by turtle30c Matthew 7:7-14 KJV (7) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: (8) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (9) Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? (10) Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? (11) If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? (12) Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. (13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. God desires to give good gifts to His children. The best gift that a parent can give his child is teach them the ways of God and the ways of this world that is required for life and liberty. How to make it in our society, how to follow society rules and God’s rules at the same time. The law of love triumphing over all laws because a good society is made up of laws to love and God laws of love. God’s law to love is not to live like a devil. God best gift he gave besides His Son was the gift of the Holy Spirit, but just like salvation we must ask for it. God gives two gifts to all His children upon asking. If we ask for the Holy Spirit it should be after salvation. Yet it is the Holy Spirit that convicts our hearts of sin, and gives us the power to live in this world as Christ would, not without us still having free will obey or disobey God. Yet God promises us if we listen and obey, we will not yield to temptation and He deliver us from the enemy. The wide road of temptation and sin and following after society laws is there for the taking, yet without God there is no moral ground, there is no ability to do the will of God or see the power of God in one’s life. For example to receive a reward because of your talent makes you feel good, but the accomplishment is only half the battle. The reason you do something is the other half of the battle, do you do it to please only yourself and give yourself self esteem, or do you do it for the betterment of your work place, your fellowman or God? Everything you do has a purpose. Jesus said if you ask anything in my name my Father would do it, why because you working for the one you believe in. Yet everything you do for the Father must be in accordance for His will. If you serve your parents and family it for the betterment of your family. Are you serving God to better your life in the one to come, or not for reward but to build the kingdom of God. Many religions build on the principle of what they get, not what one gives. Are you building God’ s kingdom or your own. Who’s side are you on? Dear Heavenly Father I need not the ruby slippers, or the gold, to be satisfied in this life, but the ability to work for the kingdom of God a kingdom that is about love and compassion. In Jesus precious name, Amen. http;//www.turtle30cshell.com _ |
