John 5:22-30 KJV (22) For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: (23) That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. (24) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (25) Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. (26) For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; (27) And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. (28) Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, (29) And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (30) I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
The whole concept of righteousness, sanctification and Justification is summoned up in the concept of faith. Faith making one righteous through belief, cleansing anyone that believes through faith, and justifying us as children of God. One might ask if all three concepts are conceived in the Old Testament and taught by God, then what the purpose of Christ. Christ came not to judge the world but to bring the continual message of salvation through faith. For God so loved the world John 3: 16 said and it goes on to say “that whosoever believeth” Whoever believed that Jesus was sent, believed he came, believed he would be. The continual circle of faith in Jesus through simple belief in God, belief in what God said. It is for all that will surrender to God’s word, and not only to His word but to God.
Faith is extreme term some might think for salvation, yet one has to ask do you want those that have no confidence in your ability around you twenty four seven. I think when I was first married and I got my toes burnt from hot grease. My poor husband was EMT and I did not want him to help me. In truth it was reaction to pain. He did not cause it he was trying to help ease the pain. Yet that all God is trying to do is ease the pain of our guilt, to allow us to know He loves us and as the solution for that pain of guilt and sin. You do not have to carry the guilt of sin forever with you if you only confess it.
The healing truth of John Gospel speaks of Jesus being the Word of God and to believe in God one also needs to believe in Jesus, not just as the Word but also as everlasting Father, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Lord, and the Prince of peace. God gave his authority to His Son, meaning he obeys His word as well. Meaning His word is official rules and regulations. The official rules of regulations with a code of mercy and grace. Jesus said a day was coming of a judgment of the graves opening. Everyone ignores the fact in Matthew 27 the graves opened, but it spoken of in Matthew Gospel. Why then if the word is true do we ignore it. Because many do not understand this book was not written in a day, but over a period of time from as early as Adam’s generation. Can we ignore history, to not help us to define our own faith. For God’s rules never change and always will be.
Dear Heavenly Father may we seek your word and truth about who You and Your Son Is. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
