Mark 14:55-64 ISV
(55)  Meanwhile, the high priests and the whole Council were
looking for some testimony against Jesus in order to have him put
to death, but they couldn't find any.
(56)  Although many people gave false testimony against him, their
testimony didn't agree.
(57)  Then some men stood up and gave false testimony against
him, saying,
(58)  "We ourselves heard him say, 'I will destroy this sanctuary
made by human hands, and in three days I will build another one
not made by human hands.'"
(59)  But even on this point their testimony didn't agree.
(60)  Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus,
"Don't you have any answer to what these men are testifying
against you?"
(61)  But he kept silent and didn't answer at all. The high priest
asked him again, "Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed
One?"
(62)  Jesus said, "I AM, and 'you will see the Son of Man seated
at the right hand of the Power' and 'coming with the clouds of
heaven.'"
(63)  Then the high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we still need
witnesses?" he asked.
(64)  "You have heard his blasphemy! What is your verdict?" All of
them condemned him as deserving death.

Some technical issues this morning has caused me a little
frustration and stress levels rise. However I am delighted to know
it was not my computer this morning. These things happen. I am
much aware that the world continues on even if I can not. Christ
return however is coming, and we must be ready just like I must
be when my server is working again. Jesus came to seek and
save the lost. The Jewish heart was harden because they
understood not the things pertaining in their time concerning the
Messiah. How much do we grasp of the time of Noah and the flood
coming in relationship to end time prophesy. I often wonder what
are missing that we do not grasp. Words Jesus spoke concerning
the temple being destroyed, man did not understand, yet I wonder
how many Pharisees, Sadducees, Priest and scribes in religious
court when hearing and seeing the Messiah after the resurrection
understood that His body was the temple of the Spirit of God. Our
body is nothing but flesh, yet it contains our spirit by human birth
and the Spirit of God upon spiritual birth within us. We will rise
again by the Spirit of God in us, homeward bound we go to
heaven. Yet do we fail to understand our body is a temple. Why
did the Pharisees and Sadducees not understand it. John was full
of the Holy Spirit upon conception. He even leaped in Elizabeth
upon greeting Mary. So it was not a lack of God necessarily, but a
hardness of heart and blindness to what was spoken even in the
court.

The religious leaders had looked for a way to trap Jesus for a long
time. They plot to find a way to destroy Jesus. He was hurting
their purse strings. Yet it was more then just that. He had them
look foolish many times before the people because of hardness to
the truth. Yet they always returned seeking answers. The religious
leaders were afraid of the power Jesus had, afraid he would
cause a revolt and things had gotten comfortable to the people
under Roman rule and any talk of revolt often lead to leaders
death. It was better one man die then many, so they conjured up
false witnesses, but only two could be found in finding a means in
which to trap Jesus.

The two false witness understood not and Jesus refused to
answer or defend himself other then to tell them they would see
the Son of Man on the right hand of God coming in a cloud. This
was consider Blaspheme against God or speaking untruth against
God. It was enough that the religious leaders said he worthy of
death. And took Jesus to legal law so He could be executed.

The court of religious law was out of control, it was not in
obedience to the Law of Moses but corrupt. One need two or
three witness that were willing to speak truth. Though they spoke
truth they understood not the meaning of Christ words that it
ensnared or entrapped him. They had desire to bring false
accusation against Jesus. The religious leaders were to be leaders
of truth not a desire for false witnesses.

Are we seeking truth or false testimonies. Are we seeking truth
about Jesus or looking for error. Are we looking for positive
evidence or false claims concerning Christ. Read and study the
word of God and be a seeker of truth.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to be seeker of truth and not to bear
false witness against our neighbor. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
