Luke 24:44-53 KJV
(44)  And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake
unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled,
which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in
the psalms, concerning me.
(45)  Then opened he their understanding, that they might
understand the scriptures,
(46)  And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved
Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
(47)  And that repentance and remission of sins should be
preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
(48)  And ye are witnesses of these things.
(49)  And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but
tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power
from on high.
(50)  And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his
hands, and blessed them.
(51)  And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted
from them, and carried up into heaven.
(52)  And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with
great joy:
(53)  And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing
God. Amen.

The Lord is good to those that wait. And waiting for the promise
Messiah probably seemed like forever to the Jewish people and
even more so to those that do not believe He has come. One thing
the Messiah had to fulfill all the promises God had made Israel
concerning the Messiah. Seldom does anyone think about the
importance of this fact, because if they did it would be taught on
more in relationship of Christ fulfilling the Old Testament prophecy.
I think it important information to believers to know most if not all
the fulfillment has been made, except for one that is the return of
Christ coming in a cloud. Yet that day will come. Yet to many that
believe it seems to be sooner then the world is ready for, and yet
not soon enough for us that believe, understanding that fullness and
mercy of Christ. Yet perhaps that why Christ has not returned in
the physically since but only in the spiritual since.

Why go on about these things, because Christ promised the Holy
Spirit would come to the disciples if they would remain in
Jerusalem until they were endue power from on high. Power that
would come by the Holy Spirit upon the disciples so they could be
the witnesses for Christ, for without this power from above they
would not see miracles of healing take place in the lives of the
people they witnessed too.

We do not have the ability to witness for Christ without the power
of God enabling us to produce signs and wonders defining who’s
child we are. When we pray miracles should happen. What one
might ask. Miracles are not always instantaneous. God’s working
power not always what we think it should be. God working first in
the heart of the unbeliever to receive the truth about who He is,
and reception of His Son and His Spirit.
Treading on serpents and drinking deadly poison and not being
harmed was talked about in the last chapter of Mark as being
signs of the believer, but it also signs of the power of the Holy
Spirit in one’s life. Does not make a person exempt from problems,
but when one goes forth in ministry there should be signs to follow.
Why to help those with unbelief concerning who God is. It is a tool
God uses to increase faith. Faith for the believer as well as the non
believer. Yet healing comes through death as well as with life.
Death being for the terminally ill that not healed on earth if they
believe that upon death healing in heaven. Yet even the terminally ill
sometime healed with faith. Some minister will say I won’t take no
for answer when healing is promised. Though I agree, I also
disagree, because Jesus said there will always be physicians
among you. I believe it meant there will always be need of doctors.

One must make there own determination of faith whether what one
seeks from God is according to God plan for one’s life. This is
determined by the Word of God of promise. Yet we can no
foresee the heart of anyone. Why God takes some that in our
hearts should be healed and take others one will never fully grasp
till heaven. Faith is so individualized to believe in God’s wonderful
works and to pray for people takes faith. It takes not much faith,
just as small of mustard seed to pray and ask from God. Yet the
power of healing comes by the power of the Holy Spirit. It not by
my power or anyone else power when it from God. There are
people God’s heals when doctors have given up. Yet there also
signs and wonders as a minister steps up to the plate to preach.
There miracles that come upon receiving of the power of the Holy
Spirit in one’s life. God teaches, and disciples would need His
power to face eventually different types of death. Some were
beheaded for the Gospel sake, and others were crucified. Without
the power of God they would not be able to walk by faith in times
of trouble, we be like Peter who would deny Christ three times
before receiving the power of the Holy Spirit. This power not his to
use at his own will, but according to the will of God.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for proof in scripture that Jesus is
the Messiah, thank you for the comforter the Holy Spirit, who gives
power to the believer upon faith in your Son, upon receiving the
knowledge of the Holy Spirit of promise. In Jesus precious name,
Amen.
