Women in the Bible
Lesson 3:by turtle30c

As I surf the net this morning and was looking into some of the places I go a
comment was made concerning the fact that God created both Adams. The first
man that was place in the garden and did sin and the second that was the only
begotten of Son of God and was made a quickening spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:45 KJV
(45)  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last
Adam was made a quickening spirit.

In other words Christ was made perfect for our benefit, to save us from our sin.
We would not die spiritual if we would believe in Him. Adam was made in the
likeness of God, but was not made equal to God. Christ was however fully God
and fully human. Now with this said what does it have to do with women. Well if
you think about God had to create both men, but with women after the first was
created he only had to pick one to carry the second Adam Jesus. Mary was highly
favored of God. Eve was created but she had sinned and blamed the snake. Mary
however was highly favored among women.

Luke 1:28 KJV
(28)  And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored,
the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Though Mary was favor she still was human and with faults no doubt, but she
was a woman of faith. She was chosen for a particular task, to carry the Messiah.
The one that would save us from our sins. Mary would represent in a sense what
would be the future of the church. What did I loose a few of you with that
statement. Last Bible study we talked about how the bride was the church, How
even men and women would be the bride of Christ. Mary is symbolic as well as
actuality. See Christ lives inside each believer. He lives in each of our hearts. The
Holy Spirit indwells in us. We are the temple of the living God for those that
believe.

1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV
(16)  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God
dwelleth in you?

1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV
(19)  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is
in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Now if we are the temple of God. Then we must stop and regroup and realize we
can not be God. Being the temple and being God is to different things. And in
today’s world many believe they are gods.

John 10:34-35 KJV
(34)  Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
(35)  If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture
cannot be broken;

Many would love to take this scripture out of context and say Jesus even said the
laws say we are gods. The simple fact is the judges and rulers of the land and even
our churches are like mini gods, but they still do not have authority over all
things. God has the final say, He entrust his servants to do his will.

One almost has to do a double take when examining scripture sometimes. This is
why studying and examining is important. Some people have come to look at
themselves as God and not gods. They feel they have all authority to do whatever
they want despite the rules and guidelines set out by God and even our own
government. Rules are meant  to be followed to protect the innocent. It keeps
society pure and without crime and for a Christian when we follow the word of
God it keeps us pure and holy.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 KJV
(16)  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God
dwelleth in you?
(17)  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple
of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Romans 12:1-3 KJV
(1)  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service.
(2)  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God.
(3)  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you,
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly,
according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Something that seems to be hard in today’s Christian world is people
thinking themselves more highly then they ought to. New Christians are first
taught that they are a temple of God and then they are taught to live in holiness.
Then somewhere in between this time period people get the idea that they are
perfect. They get this huge head of self righteousness instead of godly
righteousness. So what does it mean to be righteous and what does it mean to live
holy?

To be righteous is to have faith in God. To live holy is to consecrate your life to
the Lord. To live according to the word of God, understanding that we are not
perfect in the since that we are not without fault often on a daily bases. But
perfect in the since we know our sins are washed away. To live a consecrated life
means to live a life given to God. For God paid our sin debit by sending his Son
to die in our place. And for this reason we bow and yield our life to Him. Not has
just a humble servant, but has a child of the King. We can never pay God but we
can give back to him.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV
(19)  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is
in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
(20)  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in
your spirit, which are God's.

1 Corinthians 7:20-24 KJV
(20)  Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
(21)  Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made
free, use it rather.
(22)  For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman:
likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.
(23)  Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
(24)  Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

We are freemen. Free from sin, but not from the law of God. See this is where
many people fail to realize we are still responsible to obey God whether we
receive the free gift of salvation or not. See on judgment day, those who are
unsaved will face the consequences for sin. Those who names are written in the
Lambs book of life have nothing to fear, but we still need to obey God.

To tie it all together we are the bride of Christ we are to be a living and holy
temple unto the Lord. We are to turn from our sins and be a pure unadulterated
bride. Turing from sin and remembering that when we do sin we have an
advocate with the Father Jesus Christ.

1 John 2:1-6 KJV
(1)  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any
man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
(2)  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the
sins of the whole world.
(3)  And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
(4)  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and
the truth is not in him.
(5)  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected:
hereby know we that we are in him.
(6)  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he
walked.
