God/Father of Those Who Fear Him.
Lesson Nineteen: by turtle

Though this is our last lesson in the series learning about God never ends. Throughout these
lesson the greatest thing about God has been interwoven throughout all these lessons. The fact
Jesus is Savior and Lord. He is our salvation. God gives many gifts to everyone. Saved or lost
there are certain gifts that are given to each of us as a human race. Food, clothing, wealth, health,
love, and so forth. Each of us having the ability to be fruitful while on this earth. Doesn’t
mean we all have food, for there are many countries that have faced famines and drought. Not all
are wealthy, for many are poor in the world. Most people know how to show some measure of
love. I could go on and on, but all but love is a temporal type of gift. Love is the greatest gift
given to man for it is everlasting and so is hope and faith. But these three Love hope and faith are
also spiritual gifts not a temporal gift unless you are not saved then these would only be a
temporal gift in your life. Temporal meaning not a permanent gift. Without salvation all gifts of
God are only temporal in your life.

A permanent gift from God is only for the believer. Wait a minute what are you saying, turtle???
Sometimes one needs to slow down a bit to explain this. Salvation is for those that will receive it.
It is a gift not meant to be taken away. It is a gift to be received. Baptist like to say once saved
always saved. Some Pentecostals believe in being eternally secure. Who is right? Who is wrong?
The devil believes and trembles.

James 2:19 KJV
(19)  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Does Satan have eternal life.

Revelation 19:20 KJV
(20)  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him,
with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped
his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Satan is cast in to the lake of fire. This is not hell. For in the next chapter we see Hell is destroyed
also.

Revelation 20:14 KJV
(14)  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Yes there is a place worse then hell. The lake of fire. This is the judgment for all sinners who
names are not written in the Lamb's book of life. What not all sinners go to eternal lake of fire.
Not all face hell? These question are not asked to scare you but to explain to you. We all have
sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23 KJV
(23)  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:10 KJV
(10)  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Then where is our hope. Where is our ability to escape the eternal flame.

Romans 5:6-9 KJV
(6)  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
(7)  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would
even dare to die.
(8)  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
(9)  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

What Christ died for me? Salvation comes to us by Christ death on the cross. He did not stay
dead but arose the third day.

Ephesians 2:4-6 KJV
(4)  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
(5)  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are
saved;)
(6)  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

God loves me. God loves you. God cares for us. How do i obtain this. What must I do to have
eternal life. What must I do not to go to hell.

Romans 10:9-11 KJV
(9)  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that
God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
(10)  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made
unto salvation.
(11)  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

One must confess sins before God and believe with one's heart for salvation. Oh that all. That is
simple let me take care of that now. Okay let's pray.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sins. I believe
He paid the price for my sins and I receive you gift of salvation. Lord forgive me of all my sins
and short comings. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Okay if you were sincere and believed you are now saved. Simple right. That is all there is to it.
Yes that is it, but remember with repentance that means to turn from sin. What?? Remember the
devil believes and trembles. This is where many people fail to understand. If we truly accept the
gift of salvation there is going to be a change in our life.

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
(17)  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new.

With receiving the free gift of salvation there is change that takes place. Our desire is to please
God. To learn to love God. This is about growing in our new faith. Belief is the only thing it takes
to get saved, but if we are saved and act like the devil we are not God's kids.

1 John 2:1-6 KJV
(1)  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have
an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
(2)  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the
whole world.
(3)  And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
(4)  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not
in him.
(5)  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that
we are in him.
(6)  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

What now i am expected to be perfect? But I am not perfect. I am going to make mistakes. Does
this mean if I sin that I going to hell after I get saved?

Romans 6:23 KJV
(23)  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

What does that mean. Okay now it is time to explain. Now it is time to help make it a little clearer.

Romans 5:17-21 KJV
(17)  For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance
of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
(18)  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by
the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
(19)  For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall
many be made righteous.
(20)  Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did
much more abound:
(21)  That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto
eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Going back to grace. God's grace intercedes for us when we sin. Salvation must be received to
gain it, but it does not give us the license to go about still sinning. God's grace for us gives us
freedom to make mistakes, but sin and living like the devil should not be our goaled any longer.

Romans 6:1-10 KJV
(1)  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
(2)  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
(3)  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his
death?
(4)  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from
the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
(5)  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the
likeness of his resurrection:
(6)  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed,
that henceforth we should not serve sin.
(7)  For he that is dead is freed from sin.
(8)  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
(9)  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion
over him.
(10)  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

We are made alive through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our sin nature is still a part
of us, but guess what it no longer reigns or rules in our life. This is where the Pentecostal and
Baptist have their problem. And it is really terminology not so much that they disagree. Realize
this is my opinion concerning the difference between these groups.

Baptist say if you sin and continue to sin then you are backslidden. If you should turn back to
God then you were saved all along if not you were never saved. Pentecostals say you are
backslidden, going to hell unless you repent. Both seem to agree with the fact that you can not
continue to be backslidden. The problem becomes this. At what state is salvation obtained by
grace and at what point can one  be lost again.

I really think the problem is not being lost again it is really understanding what salvation truly is.
It is more a lack of knowledge. People go to the altar pray the sinner pray and go home and never
enter church again and say they are saved. Church can not save you. Going to the altar and
praying can not save you unless you are real with God. Praying at home can not save you or in a
car can not save you, or behind a computer desk can not save you unless you get real with God.
One must accept his gift.

Many come in and ask and receive and never get passed the receiving. They got the ball can run
with it, but fail to make the goaled. The fail to run the race. You do not have to be real fast runner
to make it. It is not a competition of works, but it is a walk of faith in one's daily life.

Salvation is given for a purpose just like all of God's gifts. God provides food so we do not go
hungry. God made Adam and Eve clothing out of fur so they would not be naked and cold. God
did not give salvation to escape hell. And eternal flame of fire. He gave salvation so we could have
commune with Him. Commune?? You mean wine and the bread served in church, right? No. I am
talking about fellowship with Him. Abiding in the vine. God wants us to believe and to follow Him.

John 15:1-6 KJV
(1)  I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
(2)  Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit,
he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
(3)  Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
(4)  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine;
no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
(5)  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth
forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
(6)  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them,
and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If one fails to follow Christ after one prays the sinners prayer, he really is not God’s. If one
fails to continue the journey after one started it then one has turned away from God. All one ever
has to do is repent. All one has to do is ask for forgiveness when one sins.

God wants to remove all sin our of our life and it takes a life time to change. But our sin is
forgiven from the time of confession.

1 John 1:5-10 KJV
(5)  This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light,
and in him is no darkness at all.
(6)  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
(7)  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the
blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
(8)  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
(9)  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
(10)  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

He is faithful to forgive us when we confess our sins. He knows we are going to sin, but we make a
decision to live for Jesus or not. Salvation is given so we can one day live and reign with Him. He
desires us to be with Him. Salvation is not about getting a get out of hell card like a get out of jail
free card in monopoly. Salvation is for a purpose.

When we receive God gift of salvation we desire to be with God for eternity. This Bible study was
about getting to know God. Getting to know who He is. It was not to put God in a box for I could
never write or explain all there is about God. This Bible study was however to help enlighten
people about who God is. There is so much more to discover after salvation. That personal walk
with God can not compare to even a short study on God. Hopefully this study helps someone
understand a little more about God and his desire for you to now know Him personally. I do not
want to go to hell, but that is not why I choose God. God is loving, kind, caring and wants to help
me along life journey til the day I meet Him in the sky.
