God/Father of Those Who Fear Him.
Lesson Two: by turtle

This week lesson we be talking about God our Creator. When in college I study many
different things as well as talked to many different people. The only people I found
that did not believe in a Creator was those that were atheist. Most people no matter
the faith in general believe in a Creator. In a God the made the universe and all living
things. Even those who did not practice religion or believe God was a personal God
believed in a creator. This still surprises me considering I grew up in the era that
evolution was taught heavily in school. Now on the internet there seems to be more
atheist then Christian or even people who believe in a creator. It seems our world is
becoming more and more doubters of faith. Though I am only a follower of Christ
and not other religions I believe in God has being our Creator. So basically today
your decision is whether or not do you to believe God created the universe or not. If
you believe God created the universe do you believe the Biblical account of creation.

Many Christians have many different theories on creation. My stance is not to change
your view of how God could of done such a large task but bring out the fact the God
created. Despite all the Christian theories out there one fact seems to remain and that
is God created. So what did God create and what does the Bible say about creation.
This may take several lessons.

Psalms 8:3-9 KJV
(3)  When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars,
which thou hast ordained;
(4)  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest
him?
(5)  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with
glory and honour.
(6)  Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all
things under his feet:
(7)  All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
(8)  The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the
paths of the seas.
(9)  O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Many perhaps would of thought I would start in Genesis. And we will get there. But
sometimes viewing other scriptures enhances the beauty of what God did in the
beginning. First thing I remember as a child is being taught that Jesus is Lord. The
second thing I remember is being taught is God created. God created me. Boy to be
able to go back to the child like innocents of youth and take everything taught at face
value and not questioning what God can do. First and for most it is important to
understand God created every human being has equals. He put people over all living
creatures.  We has humans have a responsibly to care for God's creation. God design
us to be care takers of his work. But before He created us he created everything else.

Genesis 1:1-2 KJV
(1)  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
(2)  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the
deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Keyword is God created.
God created the universe. Water cover the earth and it was dark and there was no
light. God created light.

Genesis 1:3-5 KJV
(3)  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
(4)  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the
darkness.
(5)  And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening
and the morning were the first day.

Hard to imagine the entire earth without some form of light. But that is exactly how it
was until God created light. God called the light Day and the darkness he called
night.  This is the first day of creation.

Genesis 1:6-8 KJV
(6)  And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it
divide the waters from the waters.
(7)  And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the
firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
(8)  And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were
the second day.

God then divide the water from water by putting expansion between the heavens and
the earth. There was no land until God created it. There was water above and well as
below. Some scholars picture the heavens as being water with water being separated
from the sky to the ground. Kind of like being in a bubble and not space being in
between the water of the bubble. Other scholars disagree and believe the water above
was rain or moisture in the atmosphere. Truth is scholars may argue the point but it
does not change the fact God created. And if we let every little opinion to cause a
wedge in the one fact we can agree on then Satan has won. This was creation of the
second day.

Genesis 1:9-13 KJV
(9)  And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one
place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
(10)  And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters
called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
(11)  And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the
fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was
so.
(12)  And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the
tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was
good.
(13)  And the evening and the morning were the third day.

Now God created land and grace and all herbs and fruit trees. So God created land
and things to eat. God order of creation is brilliant if one thinks about it. There must
be food before animals. There must be water and light to help things grow before
plants. This is the end of the third day.

Genesis 1:14-19 KJV
(14)  And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the
day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
(15)  And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the
earth: and it was so.
(16)  And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser
light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
(17)  And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
(18)  And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the
darkness: and God saw that it was good.
(19)  And the evening and the morning were the fourth da
y.

Then God made day and night. I often wonder why God created day and night later.
But there needed to be a division between darkness and light. And not only did He
divide it he gave night a light as well to be able to see within that darkness. He gave
light of day the sun and the light of the night he made the moon and stars to see by.
So God made day and night and did not leave his creation in total darkness without
light of some kind. This was the end of the fourth day.

Genesis 1:20-23 KJV
(20)  And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that
hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
(21)  And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the
waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his
kind: and God saw that it was good.
(22)  And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in
the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
(23)  And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

I often look at the fifth day and wonder did evolutionist steal from the Bible. God
created the creatures of the sea and all the birds of the air. Evolution would like to
think they came up with the idea that sea animals were first creatures to be made.
Sounds like Bible to me. The problem with evolutions they have a problem with the
idea that God spoke the word and it happened. Though science can prove that things
do evolve to some degree, they however can not prove a tadpole became a bird or
some other living creature, for it does not still happen today. We can not cross a
monkey with a cat and get a monkey cat and we can not cross a dog with a cat and
get a cat dog except in cartoons. But we can take two different breeds of dogs and get
some type of mixed dog. And I have yet to see a fish and bird mate and create and
fish bird. Though a platypus might be a questionable animal. Simple fact is God
created different species and animals that could not cross breed. In other words can
not support some of the evolution theories. This was the end of the fifth day.

Genesis 1:24-31 KJV
(24)  And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle,
and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
(25)  And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind,
and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was
good.
(26)  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them
have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the
cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the
earth.
(27)  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male
and female created he them.
(28)  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and
replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
(29)  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon
the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed;
to you it shall be for meat.
(30)  And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing
that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for
meat: and it was so.
(31)  And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And
the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Then God created the rest of the animals and also made man. We get more into the
study of God creating man next week. But what we understand is God created. God
created all living. These are things man can not reproduce with out God given ability.
Even those you are studying cloning are still having to deal with the fact they can not
create another living thing with out a beginning base called DNA which God created.
Man can not create a cell or a living organism with out DNA. God however spoke the
word and the world was created.

Next week we will get into God creating man as well as what it means to be created in
God image and a little bit more about God being creator.
