God/Father of Those Who Fear Him.
Lesson Six: by turtle

I know last week lesson was a little different then normal, but I hope you took time to read the two chapters in Job that I ask you to read.
Job was a righteous man and devoted to God. When a trial came Job remain faithful to God but felt he deserved a right to appeal his case
to God. He thought he had the right to have answers to why God was allowing his suffering. Job did not feel he had done anything wrong
to deserve how he was suffering. So God granted him council. He took time to speak to Job. God response to Job is one of the best
response and illustration of who God is and how little we really understand the greatness of God. Needless to say if you did not read
lesson five please do so before you continue today.

After God speech Job responded to God in utter awe of who God is and his majesty and power. Job found himself utterly humbled to the
point he wonder who he was to ask God these questions. Take a look at his response.

Job 42:1-6 KJV
(1)  Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
(2)  I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.
(3)  Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew
not.
(4)  Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
(5)  I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
(6)  Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

Today’s lesson is about how omnipotent God is. Okay hold on. You just said one of them big old words again. Most of us has heard it
in the church the word omnipotent, but others may not have. And those in the church I seriously doubt understand the meaning of the
word omnipotent, because it is not one we use everyday. It is a word we use in reference to God. It means God is Almighty and all
powerful.

Webster's 1828 Dictionary:
“OMNIP'OTENT, a. [supra.]

1. Almighty; possessing unlimited power; all powerful. The being that can create worlds must be omnipotent.

2. Having unlimited power of a particular kind; as omnipotent love.

We had been talking from the begin of this Bible Study about God our creator. If God is our creator He must be all powerful. That is a
awesome statement. Many people that I run into in the world or worldly nature that do not believe in the Christian God seem to have a
problem with this concept of an all powerful God. I love doing hand crafts. As a crafter I know that if I make something I know exactly
how to tear it apart. I know what will cause it to crumble. God knows His creation. He knows what will destroy it as well as what he can do
to fix it. Okay why does God not fix the problems in the world. Why do people starve? Why do people get sick? Why are children
abused? Why are people homeless?

God first of all is awesome. God though He does not like suffering or evil acts. He could stop all evil. We would first have to look at God
has provider and that is another lesson forth coming, but I am going to explain though God is in control He did not create robots. He gave
man a choice. Whether to trust in Him and obey or to live however they want. So we have a choice whether we admit to God's control and
God's power or we try and do things in ourselves either in the will of God or out of the will of God. God's will is for no one to suffer, and
no one to hurt their neighbor. God is a God of love. Man however is not perfect and in his sin nature he hurts others. Our sin nature is all
those things that are not good but are evil. God one day will destroy all evil. Right now He takes care of evil by demonstrating love, by
sending his Son to die for you and me, if we will believe we will have eternal life. God desires to demonstrate love in order to change our
hearts. One day He will destroy all evil and all those who do not believe in Jesus. Jesus Christ is our salvation.

Those who choose to serve God understand His provision for them. But heathens often ask in times of trouble where is you God?

Psalms 115:1-9 KJV
(1)  Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
(2)  Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
(3)  But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
(4)  Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
(5)  They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
(6)  They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
(7)  They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
(8)  They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
(9)  O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

No matter the time of Hebrew/Jewish history did God not provide even in the time of war. He was a shield and went before them. It did
not mean men did not die or bad things did not happen. It meant that God was there overseeing and protecting them to give them victory
over the enemy no matter how large the enemy was. God often use a few God fearing men to defeat many. God either takes you through
the storm or out of the picture, if you trust in Him. So no matter the trouble one can trust in God's ability to provide protection. Does not
mean He takes us out of the situation though.

Psalms 135:5-7 KJV
(5)  For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
(6)  Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
(7)  He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.

Lord is great and He does has He pleases. In other words He is in control of everything.

Isaiah 43:13 KJV
(13)  Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

God is eternal and no one can harm those that are His. No one can take them away. God is creator.

Habakkuk 3:6 KJV
(6)  He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills
did bow: his ways are everlasting.

God's ways are forever. God power is unlimited. He can do what He wills.

Matthew 19:25-26 KJV
(25)  When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
(26)  But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Men can not save themselves, but God it is possible for man to have everlasting life.

Mark 14:36 KJV
(36)  And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

God can remove any problems we face, but our desire should be to do His will. Christ desire to do the Father's will by going to the cross.

Luke 1:37 KJV
(37)  For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Instead of allowing God ability to oversee our ability often we trust in what we are able to do.

Revelation 19:6 KJV
(6)  And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia:
for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

No matter what god is still in charge and is on the thrown. We just have to learn to trust Him for the solutions in our life.

1 Chronicles 29:11-12 KJV
(11)  Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth
is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
(12)  Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great,
and to give strength unto all.

2 Chronicles 25:8 KJV
(8)  But if thou wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.

Job 26:12 KJV
(12)  He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.

Psalms 62:11 KJV
(11)  God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

Psalms 65:6 KJV
(6)  Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

Romans 16:25 KJV
(25)  Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the
mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

God provides and establishes us. God is in control. Often we fail to see the awesomeness of who God really is. No matter how many
verse I quote I never could describe God's power or all who He is. This is just a small taste of God's omnipotence
