John 1:6-14 KJV
(6) There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
(7) The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him
might believe.
(8) He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
(9) That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
(10) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
(11) He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
(12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name:
(13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man,
but of God.
(14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John came to bear witness that Jesus was the Light. God had a specific purpose for John. He was to proclaim who
Jesus was that he was the Messiah sent from God.

John 3:25-30 KJV
(25) Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about
purifying.
(26) And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond
Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to
him.
(27) John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from
heaven.
(28) Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent
before him.
(29) He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which
standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my
joy therefore is fulfilled.
(30) He must increase, but I must decrease.

John explains he is just a friend to Christ that Christ is the bridegroom they wait for. That he must decrease so that
Jesus can increase. He is talking about his ministry must come to an end soon so that Christ ministry will grow.
John purpose was to bear witness to Jesus.

Christ own words says this when speaking to the Jews :

John 5:31-37 KJV
(31) If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
(32) There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
(33) Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
(34) But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.
(35) He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
(36) But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same
works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
(37) And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any
time, nor seen his shape.

Jesus tells the Jews that John bore witness to His coming but also one more bore witness and that was God himself
the One that sent Him. God wanted it known who sent Jesus. That He sent Him to be the Light to all the world.
But yet they did not receive Him. His own people rejected who He sent.

(8) He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
(9) That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
(10) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
(11) He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

John of course was not the light. But bore witnes that Jesus was the Light. there is only one light that is Christ.
There is only one to know God and that is through His Son Jesus. The world rejected Him from the beginning of
creation. Look at this next verse.

Romans 1:17-23 KJV
(17) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written,
The just shall live by faith.
(18) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
(19) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath
shewed it unto them.
(20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being
understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that
they are without excuse:
(21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were
thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
(22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
(23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to
corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

From the beginning God revealed Himself through creation Always from the beginning faith in God was
righteousness. God honors those who believe and dishonors those who do not believe in Him since the beginning.
So God sent Christ so we might know who He was. We didn't see who he was through His creation He hoped by
us seeing Him walk and teach and give his live up for our sins. We might have life through Christ resurrection if we
believed. But yet there are still some who do not believe and have rejected Christ.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on
his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God

God loves us so much that if we choose to recognize who he is he gave them the power to become the sons of
God by believing in His name. When we ask Jesus to become Lord of our life He accepts us as one of his
children.. We are not born of flesh and blood by His Spirit. We are adopted into the family of God. Look at this
verse

Galatians 4:4-6 KJV
(4) But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a
woman, made under the law,
(5) To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
(6) And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts,
crying, Abba, Father.

We become heirs with Jesus when we believe we in Him. We are adopt and we cry to God Father. We realize
God is our Heavenly Spiritual Father. Our Heavenly Father loves us. He cares for us more then we will ever know
or comprehend. He created us and desire us to have a relationship with him. Only way to be born of God is to
believe in Him. Do you believe today. To you except His Son Jesus to be Lord of your life. In was God's will this
should happen not ours or anyone elses. But God desire to know each and everyone of us.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten
of the Father,) full of grace and truth

For this reason Christ the word was born of a woman and lived with us.
He was God only Son. He was full of love (grace) and truth, no lie was
found in Him. Jesus was the perfect Son of God.
