| Lesson 10: The Law Of The Old That Is Covered In the New Testament: Drawing Nigh 2/01/2014 by turtle30c Matthew 4:12-17 KJV (12) Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee; (13) And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: (14) That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, (15) The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; (16) The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. (17) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. I think one of the hardest bridges in Christianity today is the Message of Christ to a people not his own yet he lived among them while He walk this earth in the physical since. His dwelling was among the gentile. Samson, Naomi, and Job all lived among the heathen nation as a witness of God. There never was a time when the Jewish witness was not out and about sharing the kingdom of God to the Gentiles. Christ message of the good news was a surprise but a fulfillment of what had been spoken to them of the Messiah coming to graft them into the kingdom. A taking away of sin upon repentance which had been mentioned before, yet the bridegroom had never come to earth before and spoke to the Gentiles as He had with Abraham and Moses. To finally a people had proof of God’s love by the coming of the Messiah that would teach the sinner of repentance and forgiveness for sin. The Gentiles now would have a High Priest or protector over their nation, just as God was Israel protector. Someone who the Gentiles would now trust because of the signs and wonders. Jesus was God’s gift to a people who traditions and ways were different then His own. Jesus was a gift to the Jews as well. A gift because their would be no more sacrifice for sin. The sacrificial traditional law was about to be done away with and only the need for one to repent in order to be saved. In other words confession of faults to God. Some might call the ushering in of the Gentiles as a time period of the heathens being in power and no longer under Jewish law. Yet a call to God to the heathen to be established. If gentiles of today would have to obey all the traditional of the Jewish legal and religious law many of us would fail. Our government designed to protect the heathen from religious zealots, and yet declaring our nation under God almost sounds ludicrous. Yet God message was sent to the heathen to turn them from the wickedness of evil. To turn away from idols. Yet for those that refused the message were to still have the ability to live in peace and harmony of the religious people unless it effect human rights of others. Sodom and Gomorrah ceased to exist because of the desire to rape the strangers that came in the village. To a town or city that refuse to protect God’s people and the children of their nation as well as the adults will fall. Jesus came to bring hope that would spring up in the hearts of the gentiles. The hope of peace and safety to a people that had lived to idolatry and whoredom from God. A people called to God who need a Savior to teach and demonstrate the love of God through miraculous power. The law had come to a people that knew not the traditions of God. Dear Heavenly Father help us to understand the Savior call was to preach to the heathen to the Gentile people of the kingdom of God and that their was redemption for sin. In Jesus precious name, Amen. http://www.turtle30cshell.com _ |
