John 8:1-11 KJV
(1)  Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
(2)  And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and
all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
(3)  And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman
taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
(4)  They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in
adultery, in the very act.
(5)  Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be
stoned: but what sayest thou?
(6)  This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse
him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the
ground, as though he heard them not.
(7)  So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and
said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first
cast a stone at her.
(8)  And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
(9)  And they which heard it, being convicted by their own
conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even
unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing
in the midst.
(10)  When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the
woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine
accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
(11)  She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither
do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

How precious are the  words to go and sin no more. By Old
Testament Law the woman and man caught in adultery was to
be stoned. Yet the judicial law of Roman rule probably did not
enforce this law. After all sexual immorality raged among the
heathen rulers that ruled over Israel. To anyone not a Jew some
of the Jewish laws would seem over bearing. Abraham had not
lived by these laws or many of the leaders after. However this
was God law not commit adultery. Man as broken God’s law
from the beginning. It not that God’s law is not good, it has to
do with man inability to obey God, because they were not
perfectly made and were given choice to obey and disobey.
What then do we decide, who is stoned and who is not based
on what? The point is the law was to point out the sin, and
prove all was worthy of death since Adam, because not one of
us could obey the law of God.

The Priest who came to Jesus to try to trap him, began to back
away because Jesus wanted to know of their perfect state that
gave them the right to kill this woman. They began to realize
they to had sinned. Each walked away, never saying anything
more about the woman caught in adultery. Jesus stood and
looked at the woman go and sin no more. Telling the woman to
go and live in the ways of God and not the ways of sinful man.
To turn away from sin. It be up to her to make that choice. Just
like it is for all of us that repent of our sins. We turn away only
to find something new we do that pleases not God.

To live only to please ourselves is sin, to please God is to fall
into obedience head  first and not look back. To swim forward in
life toward the truth and will of God for our life. No one lives
perfectly unto God, and that is why God’s redemption plan is
necessary through Jesus who accuses us not, but tells us to go
and sin no more. Once you know something is sin then do not
do it again. Yet we all slip back into sin, not meaning too or
willfully doing so, knowing God our Father is not pleased. Yet
God requires one thing when we recognize our sin to repent or
turn away from doing it. Hopefully before the temptation causes
us to slip and fall. God warned Cain but Cain did not even
repent. God desire us to repent to feel sorry for our sin. For
those tears to fall so to speak, whether it leads to physical tears
it needs to lead to tears of the heart. Tears that wrench the
heart. God gives each believer the power of the Holy Spirit to
enable us to over come sin. Yet we have to be willing to listen to
God’s Spirit and obey, not listening to our flesh and demons that
try and steal the will of God and blessings that come from  God
to us.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to feel those tears of guilt of sin,
to enable us to turn from our wickedness. Enables us to turn,
and to live a life pleasing to you, through the power of your Holy
Spirit. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
