Why Miracles Happen?
Lesson Sixteen: by turtle

Mark 9:1-9 KJV
(1)  And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that
stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God
come with power.
(2)  And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and
leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was
transfigured before them.
(3)  And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on
earth can white them.
(4)  And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with
Jesus.
(5)  And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and
let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
(6)  For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
(7)  And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the
cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
(8)  And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any
more, save Jesus only with themselves.
(9)  And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should
tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the
dead.

The vision of heaven is given to all believers. Sometimes it totally by faith and
others are caught up as Paul was to the third heaven.

2 Corinthians 12:2-4 KJV
(2)  I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I
cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one
caught up to the third heaven.
(3)  And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot
tell: God knoweth;)
(4)  How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which
it is not lawful for a man to utter.

The transfiguration was such a vision and a reality. Though Moses and Elias truly
came from heaven it was sign to the Peter, James and John of who Christ was. He
would be transformed, He would be changed when He arose form the grave just
like Moses and Elias.

The power of God the power of Christ in us giving us the everlasting hope of a
better tomorrow. I have heard men and women speak of heaven and though I did
not understand why they spoke so much of it. It is the hope of every believer to see
the coming of our Savior and if not the hope of His return we have the promise of
heaven to fight the enemy.

The day of transfiguration brought hope to the disciples, but I wonder why they
lost the hope for just a short period at the cross. I think maybe cause they could
only see the present and not the future at the cross. Christ need them to know He
knew what He was asking them to do. He knew what it meant to bare the pain.

Press on heavenward by following Jesus. Press to a high hope. Be blessed and
know God is truly wonderful.
