| Consequences Of Sin And Forgiveness: Lesson 11: Need Of The Purge 1/09/2014 by turtle Luke 3:4-18 KJV (4) As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. (5) Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; (6) And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. (7) Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? (8) Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. (9) And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (10) And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then? (11) He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. (12) Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do? (13) And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you. (14) And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages. (15) And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not; (16) John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: (17) Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable. (18) And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people. Today as I began to type, I have not wanted to write, because of all that been on my mind of late in relation to the consequences of sin and forgiveness. There is a reason God wants us to concentrate on our wrong, without doing so we can not purge that sin from us. That guilt must come in order for us to have the need to remove it. To be purged, one then have a need to be filled and what you put back in your tank is what going to come forth once again. Many people of different societies deal with wrong differently on a spiritual plain. Why they do not do though is get their tank filled with the right fuel. The fuels we need is of the Lord. It is both the word of God and the Spirit of God that must fill us. It is Christ in us filling us with His power and might in our life. If we walk a crooked road we find ourselves weaving back and forth and sometimes going back the same way we just left. God desires for our path to smooth in life. To go in one direction not weaving back and forth and making a U-turn. The simple fact is God is the only that can make our path straight, but we have need of a Messiah to purge our hearts and our soul to a right relationship with God. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to set us on fire. And as I finish today’s lesson I have to realize without purging of sin our heart is still filthy, without a Messiah we still need saving. Without Messiah taking our sins to the grave, we can not spring forth in newness of life. There is a threshing floor for the wheat to be separated from its stalk. The stalk is then tossed away. It is burnable, yet the wheat can be replanted or bread made out of it once it is grounded. Yet the wheat has an unusable part that must be cut off and cut down. Removed from the part useable for growth. A tree with fruit is planted by the seeds that are grown and found in the fruit. If a walnut tree nuts are not picked up the seeds will go into the ground to produce saplings of walnut trees. So it is with the word of God if planted in good soil it will produce another tree. Are we willing to be purged so we can produce more fruit or are we afraid to be cleansed by the power of God’s word. Dear Heavenly Father purge us and make us whole by the power of your word through Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit. In Jesus precious name, Amen. http://www.turtle30cshell.com _ |
