| Consequences Of Sin And Forgiveness: Lesson 17: Sin Against God 01/15/2014 by turtle Exodus 32:21-35 KJV (21) And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them? (22) And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief. (23) For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. (24) And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf. (25) And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:) (26) Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. (27) And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour. (28) And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men. (29) For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day. (30) And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin. (31) And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. (32) Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. (33) And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. (34) Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them. (35) And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made. Moses is unable to gain pardon for the people and their punishment was a plague to those who had sinned. One has to ask is our sins transgressions against God or our fellow man. Aaron did what the people said, but is unpunished. His heart was not with the desires of the people, but his role was as a priest so he did what the people told him to do. I wonder why God’s wrath did not come on Aaron, yet I have to think that if you have a crowd around that can out flank you any day then you might as well do what you are told. Yet Aaron used it to gather gold from the people. Stealing them of their wealth for their idol. In other words it was going to cost them to have a golden calf made. Not only cost them money but it would cost them their life. Aaron was a spokesman for Moses and his brother. Yet this time he did not the ways of Moses or of God. One has to ask, what was Aaron afraid of after seeing all those miracles before this time. Why did he not rebuke or call upon the people to go against the idolaters. The only reason I can think of the law had not been given yet. Yet the law of thou shalt not kill was around since time of Cain. To not follow Satan ways was the other law already from the beginning. Two laws broken by the people that already existed. This is why God told Moses He blotted out those who sinned against Him. The next chapter Moses talks face to face with God. But the people are outside the tent. Those for God killed, was this sin, no it was an act of war. The only justification was because it was against the devil. These people were dancing around this calf naked. No modesty, and this would taught to their children. They were slashing their skin to their god. It never seems right to allow a killing, but if it is going to effect the health and well being of society as a whole then it has to be destroyed. Today we live in a time were other tactics can be done to war against devils that would harm society. First the laws against evil in our state and nation protect human race. Not all our laws stop humans from causing destruction. Yet it is the war we rage in America to protect the people as well as overseas. Education enables people to see truth and not evil. If we do not fight for justice, we fail. Those for God stood with Moses and slaughter the enemy. If we stand for justice the law will protect in our land. Even if it cost lives of those fighting for justice. Yet when God before who can defeat us. Our nation is slowly having God removed from our nation. If we believers will stand and declare truth then God’s word will stand. Let us fight with legal battles and not with knives and guns unless it is forced upon us for our protection. God forgives and blots out those that are not his children. Let us not be blotter of God’s pen, but the tool to help others see the truth of God’s word. Do not be like Aaron bowing to the whims of the people. Bowing to the enemy. For we need no blood our hands, but we need to declare who God is of our nation. Jehovah is His name. Jesus is son. Let us not bring death to a people, but truth of life. Moses declared and caused a war that day of who God of the Bible was and who served God. Yet God would still correct His people with a plague. Dear Heavenly Father forgive us our failing for you forgave Moses for the slaughter for he stood face to face with you. In Jesus precious name, Amen. http://www.turtle30cshell.com _ |
