Romans 6:1-23 KJV
(1)  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace
may abound?
(2)  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer
therein?
(3)  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus
Christ were baptized into his death?
(4)  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that
like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the
Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
(5)  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his
death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
(6)  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the
body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not
serve sin.
(7)  For he that is dead is freed from sin.
(8)  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also
live with him:
(9)  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more;
death hath no more dominion over him.
(10)  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth,
he liveth unto God.
(11)  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto
sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(12)  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should
obey it in the lusts thereof.
(13)  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of
unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those
that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of
righteousness unto God.
(14)  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under
the law, but under grace.
(15)  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law,
but under grace? God forbid.
(16)  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to
obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto
death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
(17)  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye
have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was
delivered you.
(18)  Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of
righteousness.
(19)  I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of
your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to
uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your
members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
(20)  For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from
righteousness.
(21)  What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now
ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
(22)  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to
God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
(23)  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

As we begin our New Year one has to ask how will you live it this
year? Will you live it to be rebel against God or for God. Faith in
Jesus is simple, it is something that been around since the dawn of
time, when one understands that Jesus is the Word of God coming
down to us in human flesh, to die and be resurrected for our sin.
Wages of sin is death. That was condition that God gave man for
disobedience. A condition not one man but Jesus was able to
overcome. Jesus being the only begotten Son of God was the only
one to walk in perfection of God’s grace. God decreed something
like a rule and it was broken it would separate man from him. Yet
God desired man not to be separated from him because man
failed to worship or obey Him. God understood our imperfection
but it was and is a requirement of faith to obey Him. It is what
keeps us out of trouble with our fellow man and God.

God seen our inability to obey and that when grace did abound
and already had abound. For God did not leave Adam and Eve
because of sin, just cast them out of a place of perfection. He did
not leave Adam and Eve alone but continued with them, for Eve
was able to say I got a man from the Lord when she gave birth to
her first son Cain. Disobedience caused one to be cast out of
paradise, but death of God’s word saved us to live with Him in
heaven one day if we would only believe in Jesus.

Christ came to demonstrate not only how to live but how to walk in
faith. No one could walk in perfection of God, no one could live in
perfection, no one was righteous not one. Yet God grace came
when God said you only have to believe in my Word and I broke it
for you by making a requirement that you have to believe and that
you will die for sin if you live for sin. If you live for me then you will
be free from sin. Follow after Christ example, follow after His word
unto obedience, obey because you love Him, and not because of
lack of faith. Faith is one of the first requirements for salvation, in
some cases the only requirement. The thief on the cross would be
in paradise with Jesus because He believe in who Jesus was. His
only work was defending who Jesus was.

Confession of faith is saying I realize I am a sinner, sinner because
of my imperfection, because God created me in his image, but did
not design me to be perfected. He designed me though to believe
and serve Him unto righteous of faith. To walk in the perfection of
faith and obeying His instructions. Moses even failed in belief and
yet he is seen in the transfiguration. Yet he was punished for his
sin by not being able to see the promise land. All Moses did was
hit a rock twice when he was suppose to hit it once and water
would pour out for the people. It is the act of playing God or
thinking that power of God is in our control that gets us in trouble.
Moses sin no longer caused him spiritual death but a denial of
walking in a place of promise. Better to loose the promise of
earthly nature then the promise of spiritual life that is given upon
faith. Yet Moses would have had both rewards if he only obeyed.

Our obedience to God allows the blessing of God to pour in our
life, and disobedience alienates us from His blessings. Is our
situation we are in because of our disobedience to God. Make this
your New Years resolution to believe first in Jesus, who upon faith
we receive eternal life a gift given that will not be taken away from
us. Then make your New Year resolution to walk in righteousness
of faith, walking in submission to obedience of God because you
love Him and believe Him, knowing when you fail, you might be
corrected, but that correction is not going to separate you from
eternal life with God because of His grace. God’s grace is free.
Not all situations are because of sin though, some situations are
common of man because we live imperfect world, because of
Adam’s original sin.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to believe in the promise of your
Word that it is only broken through belief and faith in you, and
choosing to live for you because your Son died for me. In Jesus
precious name, Amen.
