11 Days of God's Gift Giving

Genesis 3:14-16 KJV
(14) And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou
hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every
beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou
eat all the days of thy life:
(15) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and
between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou
shalt bruise his heel.
(16) Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow
and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and
thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Has long is man and woman are in the world God has given them
power over the serpent or the devil’s in this life. Devils meaning
temptation, evil or anything not in sync with God’s design. God’s
design is for us to be in obedience to His will. God tells us we
have power over sin. God gave this right to all mankind. Jesus
tells his disciples they have the power to tread to serpents and to
take up serpents. Take up sin or to remove sin, and not to do sin.
To take up sin meaning to remove or forgive. To forgive sin, is to
allow a person to walk freely from guilt of sin and not feel guilty.
To show unconditional love and forgiveness.
Many hard line rulers can be so strict on a rule that there is no
compassion, beyond the rule. Moses was such a leader. He had
learned leadership skills from Pharaoh and Midianites. In truth
sometimes you have to be strict, sometimes ones has to forgive.
Moses begged God for mercy for the people and when he seen
what they were doing he had evil people destroyed along with
their golden calf. One thing Christ came to do is teach us to
forgive and to remind us of the power we have not to sin, to
crush evil from out of our lives.
Jesus was born under the law, He came to deliver us from the
law. He was before the law, and He is the law, yet when the law
becomes a task master and becomes to the point of being to
relax or to strict it becomes no earthly good to anyone but those
side it reigns on. Slapping a person for drug possession verse
throwing the book at them might keep some off the streets and
not others from doing the crime. Yet to strict and the law
becomes a fear to conquer and cause rebellion. Christ law of
love for first time offenders might work, but for second time
offenders the law needs to get tough. Does Christ law of
forgiveness work in our justice department, only when there is
true desire for a person to change and seek the help needed for
change. Christ has the ability to work in a person’s life to change
them. By allowing God to remove sin from your life, by believing
on Jesus, repenting of sin and turning away from temptation can
not only save a person’s soul but enable them to walk in a new
way of living. Allowing Jesus to replace that sin, allowing His
words to fill your heart, and choosing not to sin, brings about
conquering of sin. One should not live in fear of sinning, because
we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. However we should
live in the fear and reverence of God.
Christmas is in eleven more day, consider making Jesus lord of
your life. Making Him a requirement for living by His instruction,
so evil can be conquered in your life. Jesus paid the price for sin.
God sent His only Son to be our price for sin. Sin hurts others
including ourselves. If we choose to sin we are adding to those
stripes on His back, if we accidentally sin that has already been
paid. Do not add to the stripes of Christ. Do not continue in re
crucifying of Jesus, turn from sin if you know it is sin. Do not
allow that devil to win.
Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the power you gave us over
the enemy, thank you for allowing Christ to come to show us we
had that power all along from the beginning. In Jesus precious
name, Amen.
