Luke 1:46-58 KJV
(46)  And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
(47)  And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
(48)  For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for,
behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
(49)  For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy
is his name.
(50)  And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to
generation.
(51)  He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered
the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
(52)  He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted
them of low degree.
(53)  He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he
hath sent empty away.
(54)  He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his
mercy;
(55)  As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for
ever.
(56)  And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned
to her own house.
(57)  Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered;
and she brought forth a son.
(58)  And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord
had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.

How humble Mary was when she received the greeting from
Elizabeth when she came to see for herself the news about
Elizabeth being so. How humbling it was for her to know that she
too would have a child, because God favored her for a task.
Today lesson is on the fact God desires to take us from rock
bottom and build us up. Take a humble estate and build us up.
God’s gift is to take us from the pit to the sky and allow us to
soar with Him. God desire to give self esteem. Desire to give us
nobility. Desire to make us strong in faith.

Self esteem is one of the major things many people even in high
rank of society have trouble with has well as lower in of society.
One might not think of one group being superior but in truth, I
believe many can grasp money can buy many things and many
people for a time. It like radio and tv personalities can be bought
for a price. They are willing to do anything or be anything needed
to be for a moment. It part of their job choice, never caring the
purpose in which they say or do certain things. They gain fame
and popularity without the thought of their choices they are
making to  do their job. People paid to say Merry Christmas, or
Happy Easter. Never taking to heart the meaning. Enjoying the
benefits of such words.

Mary was given a task by God much like King David. When David
was a shepherd boy a prophet came and anointed him king of
Israel. He was the least among his brethren and yet God exalted
him for a task because of his faithfulness to him. God took a
lowly shepherd boy and built him up, gave him self esteem,
confidence, and compassion. Raised him to know how to handle
what was given him. Mary because of her low estate in life knew
the honor God gave her. Knew he gave her the confidence, self
esteem to do the task of raising His Son. Her fame would not be
one of wealth, but social nobility among the believers. Not one to
lord her position over, but one that would know more about Jesus
then anyone that walked with Him as a woman. She was the first
to carry the good news. She was the first woman in the New
Testament to have any prestige, beside Elizabeth who only
carried the forerunner of Christ. She would know the heart ache
of seeing her son being born, as well as dying and also being
resurrected. Her task a task of heart ache and joy. A task of not
seeing her son grow into old age, but knowing he would live.

Mary’s acknowledge of her estate in society makes her more
attractive to people. She understood her unworthiness, and God
ability to change that unworthiness to something more. She
understood God desire to build her up and the gift He was giving
her by allowing her to be the mother of Jesus. What position has
God prepared, or placed you in this morning. Realize God gave
you this position to glorify Him. He gave you this position to build
you and to lift you up to soar with Him. We all are unworthy to be
a child of God, but he gave us the right to be born again by His
Spirit by belief in His Son. When we die we will reign and rule
with Him.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the position you place us in
as your child, thank you building us up for the task you place us
in. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
