The Prophecy Revealed In Matthew
Lesson Twenty: by turtle

I sometimes talk about mountain moving. People think I am crazy unless I am talking spiritually or with a bull dozer. However
why can God answer a prayer and move a mountain. The fact is He can but sometimes the way He moves a mountain is not
the way we suspect that He will. Whether He literally shakes a mountain side to prove a point is something some would say is
ludicrous. However earthquakes and dynamite has moved more mountains that we have fingers and toes. However is not
earthquake God made and not man made. About three years ago a mountain near us rumbled because of the gas being place in
our coal mines in the area to produce more coal. Coal is a working industry in our region. It good pay but a hazardous job.

The disciples never seem to think about the little boat they fished in until a storm came around. The storm would come and
the waves of the sea would flood the boat. It would cause a panic. If you think of the ratio of ship for a cruise or even a battle
ship out in the ocean and compare it to the volume of water the thought can be terrifying if you had not so calm seas to the
event. Ten foot high waves over the mask does not sound appealing to me. Now take a simple fishing boat in the middle of the
sea with those same type of waves. Less appealing. Yet people have sailed through storms out at sea for centuries. Think not
much of the danger until it happens. I am kind of the type that sees the movie titanic and think will I stay on dry land, however
it proven that not much safer these days. Here is the point. Disciples when they had fear woke Jesus. Jesus rebuked the winds.
Not even Moses rebuked the winds. Not Elijah rebuked the winds. When it came to nature no one had power over it until this
man Jesus. This man who is the Son of God. He rebukes the winds and it amazes His disciples to the point they wonder about
Him because the wind obeyed Him.

Matthew 8:23-27 KJV
(23)  And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
(24)  And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was
asleep.
(25)  And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
(26)  And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and
there was a great calm.
(27)  But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Moses came speaking in the Lord’s name to Pharaoh.

Exodus 5:22-23 KJV
(22)  And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that
thou hast sent me?
(23)  For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people
at all.

Here some other examples of the same.

1 Kings 17:1 KJV
(1)  And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before
whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

1 Kings 17:10-15 KJV
(10)  So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there
gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
(11)  And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
(12)  And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a
cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
(13)  And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto
me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
(14)  For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day
that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
(15)  And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

Jesus rebuked the wind, God caused the famine to come but provided for His people. One has to ask God command and our
obedience to God’s command brings about deliverance. Yet it always events happening by the power God and His name be
responsible party. Jesus calmed the waves with this same authority of the word of God. Disciples have had no power but by
the name of Jesus. If I tell a person get up and walk, I guarantee nothing will happen, however if the Lord says turtle pray in
my name and pray that this person will be healed and able to walk, and I obey God will do according to what He says. That is
different then what Jesus did. He prayed not, He used the authority He had to rebuke the wind. I have no power to rebuke the
wind like Jesus and neither do you for none of us are God.

When we understand as believers in Christ we are joint heirs with Jesus meaning we have the same benefits as the Son, but
we are not co equal with the Son in the since of deity. We are still not God and never will be God. After all we are the bride of
Christ. A bride marries into the family, and has all equality of being a member, but is always an in-law. We are part of the
family of God by the law of God, but Christ is co equal to the Father. Here some extra verses and I am closing with that
thought.

Galatians 4:5-7 KJV
(5)  To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
(6)  And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
(7)  Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Romans 8:15-17 KJV
(15)  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry,
Abba, Father.
(16)  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
(17)  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be
also glorified together.

Philippians 2:6-8 KJV
(6)  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
(7)  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
(8)  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Are we not created in the likeness of God so God sent His Son in the likeness of man. However Jesus being fully human but
was God in all authority and power.

Genesis 1:27 KJV
(27)  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Christ though new no sin, came into a sinful world as we do. Man was made in the perfection of God and in His likeness in
the garden. There is a difference. Before sin man was like God. However after sin, man flesh became corruptible. Jesus came
with a corruptible body. A body that was destructible. To teach us how to live and to have victory over sin and death. We will
one day have indestructible body, but our authority we have will always be in the name of Christ. For Christ has authority it
was given to Him by the Father. We will continue to talk about the authority of Christ and the authority of man as we finish
out the chapter in Matthew next week
