The Prophecy Revealed In Matthew

Lesson Twenty-Five: by Christina Farris
Many times I have asked the question why is there so many people not healed. Why are their people that are blind, deaf and so
forth and they are healed. What is the purpose you were created, and why are you created the way you are? In our weakness
we are made strong. God uses our weaknesses. Moses refused to speak, though God was going to take his weakness of slow
speech and use it for His glory. Look at this discourse.
Exodus 4:11 KJV
(11) And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the
blind? have not I the LORD?
Exodus 4:10-15 KJV
(10) And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy
servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
(11) And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the
blind? have not I the LORD?
(12) Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
(13) And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.
(14) And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he
can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
(15) And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will
teach you what ye shall do.
God was going to take Moses weakness and use it for His glory, but He was going to have to train Moses, for Moses in the
beginning was weak in faith. His journey from Egypt to the promise land would be a time of strengthening his faith in God as
well as seeing God use him to do the impossible. No doubt Moses journey would effect not only him but many people that
followed Moses through the wilderness. Some believing in God and some only trusting in Moses. The next few verses in
Matthew is about healing and miracles in people lives. When Christ came He came to heal, however God been the healing
business for years.
Psalms 103:1-4 KJV
(1) A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
(2) Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
(3) Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
(4) Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
The healing in the Old Testament usually are not one right after the other. Only case I can think of that people were healed in
mass beside spiritually would be when Moses lifted up the serpent on the pole, then it was by faith that the people were healed.
Numbers 21:6-9 KJV
(6) And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
(7) Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee;
pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
(8) And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one
that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
(9) And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when
he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
Christ was a man of authority to heal, however Moses was not. In fact Moses had to request God to heal His own sister
because she was sick due to sin.
Numbers 12:5-16 KJV
(5) And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam:
and they both came forth.
(6) And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a
vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
(7) My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
(8) With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he
behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
(9) And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.
(10) And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked
upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
(11) And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and
wherein we have sinned.
(12) Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.
(13) And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.
(14) And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be
shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
(15) And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.
(16) And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.
Moses had to ask God to heal. Jesus when He healed did it in His own authority. Now there was a certain ruler that recognized
Jesus had that authority to heal. He requested Jesus to come and heal His daughter.
Matthew 9:18-19 KJV
(18) While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is
even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
(19) And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
The ruler bowed and worshipped Jesus. He knew Jesus could do something. Jesus gets up and follows this ruler and upon his
journey to the rulers house a woman who had issue of blood for twelve years touched them hem of His garment. This woman
recognized Jesus authority to heal, but at the same time approached the healer in all her unworthiness. For His issue of blood
was consider to make her unclean. A subject not to approach a religious teacher until she was healed.
Matthew 9:20-22 KJV
(20) And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem
of his garment:
(21) For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
(22) But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee
whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Jesus feeling the power leave He turned see the woman pardon her because of her faith. Many people stay home when they are
sick and are even advised by their churches to do so, because of the spread of germs, because of uncleanness from the
spreading of bacteria through coughing, sneezing just the ability to spread a bacteria. However the issue of blood this woman
had was consider unclean, because of tribal traditions. Maxi pads and tampons were not the same then as they are now. In fact
tampons probably were not even created in a rough form yet however some type of protection probably was. However if you
read this next portion of scripture you get a clear ideal what the problem was.
Leviticus 15:19-30 KJV
(19) And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever
toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.
(20) And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be
unclean.
(21) And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
(22) And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean
until the even.
(23) And if it be on her bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even.
(24) And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon
he lieth shall be unclean.
(25) And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of
her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.
(26) Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she
sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation.
(27) And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even.
(28) But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.
(29) And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the
door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
(30) And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an
atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness.
Now woman are laughing with products that are on the market today. However something they got to remember though this
was a natural process of the body, it was consider unclean much like a baby messy diapers. The temple was to be kept clean.
The home was to be kept clean. The body was to be kept clean. However while the process was going on the body is not clean,
no matter how clean you are. After seven days of being clean you present yourself to the temple. Some would say this would
stop pregnancies from taking place because now your priest have a record of your uncleanness. However that is another subject
altogether. However the woman with issue of blood was consider unclean. Being unclean you could not enter the temple and
she touch God’s only begotten Son a man of purity. Yet Christ pardon her instantly. When God makes us whole God makes us
whole. The uncleanness of our bodies has nothing to do with the cleanness of our faith. How can God heal if the sick our
outside the house of God and no believer will touch and pray for them.
However the law was doing the opposite of the intent, it was keeping people from God and not bring them to Him. Yet in the
New Testament people approached God the Son.
Back to the ruler. The ruler gets outside his house and those there says his daugher is dead and Jesus says no she just asleep.
No one believed, but Jesus raised her up.
Matthew 9:23-26 KJV
(23) And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
(24) He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
(25) But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
(26) And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
Next Jesus encounter to blind men that would not stop calling to Jesus. Jesus ask, “do you believe I can do this’? They said yes
and Jesus said according to your faith be healed. Something to note Jesus authority to heal is not quested because blind walked
away seeing and spread the word though told to keep silent.
Matthew 9:27-31 KJV
(27) And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.
(28) And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able
to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
(29) Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
(30) And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
(31) But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
Psalms 146:8 KJV
(8) The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:
Remember the issue of blood problem in the Old Testament look who is not consider unclean.
Leviticus 21:17-23 KJV
(17) Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach
to offer the bread of his God.
(18) For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose,
or any thing superfluous,
(19) Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded,
(20) Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;
(21) No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by
fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.
(22) He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.
(23) Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my
sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them.
Folks if someone tells you that you are unworthy because of health to come to God’s house consider this, what reason. We are
to pray for these people. Pray with faith as the blind were healed by the authority given to Christ by God because of who He
was, to us. We have the authority to pray in Jesus name. We are not God, but God lives in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
God heals in His time and for His purpose not for ours. Does not mean we do not see doctors, for God can use doctors to help
in the healing process, however miracles are done for a purpose. God never said until heaven that there would not be sick
people, or people with handicaps.
Next story is about man that was dumb, not able to speak had nothing to do with intelligent, with a demon.
Matthew 9:32-35 KJV
(32) As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
(33) And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
(34) But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
(35) And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom,
and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
In a previous study we discussed about demons in the Old Testament so I will not go there again, however to remind everyone
Saul was possessed with demon. This man was mute because of this demon and Jesus healed this man and some cried he was
devil that why he could do it. Priest were scared they were loosing their control, their authority.
Matthew 9:34-35 KJV
(34) But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
(35) And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom,
and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Jesus did not let what He was ordained to do stop because of the priest jealousy. Jesus was moved with passion because sheep
had been scattered all over the place. In other words people of faith were not all in one location. Some believed who He was
and others did not.
Matthew 9:36-38 KJV
(36) But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered
abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
(37) Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
(38) Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Christ with seeing the sheep that were scattered said pray that the Lord of harvest would send laborers. Meaning people who
would care about the people that would teach the people about Him. People not like the religious leaders who were against the
truth of God’s word.
Matthew 10:1-4 KJV
(1) And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to
heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
(2) Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the
son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
(3) Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname
was Thaddaeus;
(4) Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Every prophet, every teacher, every follower of Christ is commissioned to teach what they know. God will give the power for
those who will do the will of God to share the gospel to do just that. However one would have to healed to God. Isaiah,
Ezekiel, Moses, Samuel, just to name a few that yield to God in the Old Testament and God moved mightily in their life. Next
week we will talk about the commission He gave his disciples at the time He was their with them.
