The Prophecy Revealed In Matthew
|
Lesson Fifty-six: by turtle
I often wonder when I awake to write, how well I write as I watch the events around me manifest itself through scripture. Earthquake hit in Virginia and Colorado yesterday touch many surrounding areas. Some areas hit were simple farmland, and other areas cities. Though devastation does not seem great at this time, there is still damage and life will continue and things will be rebuilt and mended as long as man exist here on earth. Many believers in God wander is this birthing pains of earth, for the coming of the final end of time, and yet when the passage of Matthew 24, one quickly understands this will happen until Christ return. We long for signs and wonders but is it enough to see prophesy fulfilled in our day, from Jordan being declared Islamic state, to over sixty years ago when Israel was declare a Jewish State. Yet all a part of prophesy and a reminder of faith in God. Do Christians need oasis that say that nation is Christian as a reminder, for many of us the USA represented that fact to us, yet we long for the promise land that God promises to the believers in Christ.
As we look at scripture today, one has to be reminded of two facts That things are going to happen in our life, even to believers, not everything is perfect all the time. I wish it was. However everyone even the rich go through hard times, because of tornados, earthquakes, famines and wars. However destruction must come for a new birth to take place. A new birth yes, The old must pass away, the old structure to build a new structure. The Jewish temple would be destroyed in 70 A.D. However Christ would die on the cross and be resurrected around 30 A.D. For an Old Jerusalem to be destroyed by enemy a new one would then be built. However Christ was talking of His body, not the temple of Jerusalem. Christ would have incorruptible body when He rose from the dead. With the parting of old religion, to new living way would cause the old laws to be destroyed and abolished, however even so something remained the same. Faith in God would remain, but the Old Legal Law of Jewish faith destroyed as well as the sacrificial law. These things would be replaced. The Golden rule and second law replaced with loving Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul and loving your neighbor has yourself. Yet the law of faith would stand. Christ would also die once and for all so there be no more sacrifice for sin.
Hebrews 9:24-28 KJV (24) For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: (25) Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; (26) For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. (27) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (28) So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
With this knowledge that certain things would change with faith in Christ, one can now understand these verses in Matthew 24.
Matthew 24:1-2 KJV (1) And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. (2) And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
For Christ to be the Chief cornerstone, things would have to be destroyed and built anew, on the foundation which is Christ Jesus. Then why study Old Testament, because of prophesy, because of the people following God, God desire to give new structure to faith, because the old had waxed old. When religion becomes corrupt at the leaders end something has to happen. A time of repentance or God revealing Himself to man. When Christ return Jerusalem will be seen coming down, after the final judgment. There will be a new heaven and a new earth, the old will be gone and new will be. Structure and change had come and gone in Israel in political since, but only at the time of Moses had the laws been established and change occurred. In Genesis the sacrificial law seem to do more with gifts or covenants with God then sacrifice for sin. In fact sin was punished by God and without the law sin meant death. With obedience to the law meant life. And with the sacrificial law it meant a purging of sin from one life. Yet salvation in Genesis had to do with faith. Salvation time of flood had to do with faith. Law itself could not save without faith. Faith and trust in God being our part for eternal salvation. When Christ came God established the new covenant of healing for our sins. Christ would pay the price for all our sins. Yesterday, today and forever if we believed, but even the devil believes and trembles. Yet we are saved by grace.
John 3:16 KJV (16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Yet if we love God we will do what He says, yet even the heathens obey God. That why it important to understand God weighs the heart. God sees the heart of the matter, see whether are faith is genuine or not, no one else can see it.
When the birth pains of tribulation begin, one has to put things in to perspective. Is this the announcement of the last days?
Matthew 24:3-14 KJV (3) And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (4) And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. (5) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (6) And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. (7) For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. (8) All these are the beginning of sorrows. (9) Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. (10) And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. (11) And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (12) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. (14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Christ’s words are simple and easy to understand and no need to had or to subtract from them.
Matthew 24:15 KJV (15) When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Daniel 9:23-27 KJV (23) At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. (24) Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. (25) Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. (26) And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. (27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Daniel 12:10-13 KJV (10) Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. (11) And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. (12) Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. (13) But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
Matthew 24:16-51 KJV (16) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: (17) Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: (18) Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. (19) And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! (20) But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: (21) For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. (22) And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. (23) Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. (24) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (25) Behold, I have told you before. (26) Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. (27) For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (28) For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. (29) Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: (30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (32) Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: (33) So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. (34) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. (35) Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (36) But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (37) But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, (39) And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (40) Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. (41) Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. (42) Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. (43) But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. (44) Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. (45) Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? (46) Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. (47) Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. (48) But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; (49) And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; (50) The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, (51) And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Are we in last days? We are, but all we see must take place for Christ return to judge us. Those sealed by the Holy Spirit are saved. Believing and trusting God is the key to the kingdom.
Ephesians 1:12-13 KJV (12) That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. (13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
