The Prophecy Revealed In Matthew
Twenty-nine: by Christina Farris

Last week I went over the above passage but this week looking at differently.

There many reason Christians are not in church. Some work, some oversleep and some are doing what God has called them to do
outside of a building. However there is strife if the work of God is done in the church. If a person gets healed on Sunday they want
to know what, where, who and how come? If the word of God is preached they want to know if it is done correctly. Some to care
little if God was there in church that morning or not. Is God in the church? Is His Spirit present or is the world present. Is the word
of God present or is the devil lies being brought forth instead. Is all the rituals performed correctly and is every t crossed and all I’s
dotted in the church. Is the candle sticks lit and the offering plate passed at 11:20 to 11:25. Was the special music song will
organized or not. Did that preacher preach over or did he stick to fifteen minutes plus a minute for prayer before giving the altar call.
Did the church had to the congregation that day or not. So what if that person in the back pew needed prayer or the handicap
needed a few extra minutes to perform their task in church in his way of worshipping God. Here is the point the point if we are so
bogged by ritualism of the church to allow God presences to move in a service then one has to ask what is going on. There time we
all want to get out at twelve o’clock on the dot so we can get to the other task at hand in our lives. However is the few extra minutes
to allow people to come to God at their own speed not worthy to wait for.

Jesus was in the temple a man needed healing and it was the Sabbath and it caused quite a stir. Yet those same people would help a
sheep out of a hole but not pray for the healing of a man. Let’s look at scripture what did scripture in Old Testament really teach on
the subject.

Matthew 12:9-13 KJV
(9)  And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
(10)  And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath
days? that they might accuse him.
(11)  And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath
day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
(12)  How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
(13)  Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

Old Testament teaches in the wilderness a complete day of rest and no one was to leave their tent.

Exodus 16:29-30 KJV
(29)  See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye
every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
(30)  So the people rested on the seventh day.

Exodus 31:14-16 KJV
(14)  Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever
doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
(15)  Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the
sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
(16)  Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual
covenant.

Isaiah 56:2 KJV
(2)  Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and
keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

To keep the Sabbath one was not to go anywhere or to work, just to rest and remain at home. However to do good on the Sabbath
is a worthy cause. Pharisees broke the law by looking for ways to destroy Jesus. Yet Jesus was out and about doing good. God
intent for the Sabbath was a day of rest. What Christ did was to glorify the Father in heaven through healing. However one gift
causes a stir among the Pharisees.

Matthew 12:14-21 KJV
(14)  Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
(15)  But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
(16)  And charged them that they should not make him known:
(17)  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
(18)  Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he
shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
(19)  He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
(20)  A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
(21)  And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

Christ actions and healing power would cause many to follow Him. He stood up to the keepers of the religious law and said yeah
you are wrong. Yet this would cause opposition even more. Most look at Christ ministry as only healing and miracles of turning
water into wine and loaves and fish into a feast for many. Never talking about oppositions religious leaders had in His day. The
casting out of demons caused more opposition and in fact this next part shows this opposition but we covered this in Matthew nine,
however this is early in Christ ministry then now. In fact Pharisees have had more time to think on the issues at hand. Let’s look at
the story.

Matthew 12:22-28 KJV
(22)  Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and
dumb both spake and saw.
(23)  And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
(24)  But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
(25)  And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every
city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
(26)  And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
(27)  And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
(28)  But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Jesus is beginning to set a measuring line between the work of Satan causing a division and Himself not diving the House of God but
putting in order the word of God. Pharisees sees Christ as opponent so naturally He is the devil to them, but in reality he is not,
because He is telling about the law of God and putting things straight. Of course gentiles love this. It makes some angry and actually
tells who children these Pharisees are.

Now back to above passage.

Matthew 12:19-21 KJV
(19)  He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
(20)  A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
(21)  And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

Isaiah 42:1-6 KJV
(1)  Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth
judgment to the Gentiles.
(2)  He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
(3)  A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
(4)  He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
(5)  Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which
cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
(6)  I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the
people, for a light of the Gentiles;

Until Christ had set forth His judgment on the earth then the drying process of the cut reeds would cease. The drying reeds are still
in process today. Meaning His law is still going forth, but it like in waves from one generation to another. Setting what the law of
God actually says verses what people misinterpret it to say. Of course those not saved love these things.
