The Prophecy Revealed In Matthew
|
Lesson Thirty: Turtle
Life is an interesting road and in every road there are forks in it. Now a man that tries to go both ways will split in half and can not go either way. However you got people going the same way and get to a fork, one has to decide which way both will go or if they will split up. However most will agree to go on a journey it is easier to go with someone then walk all alone. Some of life journey is a decision to depart from different groups of people and join others or go it alone for a time. However if you have two groups of people that are at odds on a situation it better to go in different directions for a time. Abraham and Lot divided, one in the agreement to look to what best for the other and the other choosing greed of what his eyes could see all because their servants could not share what was before them.
Genesis 13:1-13 KJV (1) And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. (2) And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. (3) And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai; (4) Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD. (5) And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents. (6) And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together. (7) And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. (8) And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. (9) Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. (10) And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. (11) Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. (12) Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. (13) But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
The devil will divide a house and will take the choice portion for himself. In doing so he will only take what he sees and not what he can not see. Abraham chose the great what he could not see and that was God and the fact God had led him to the promise land and in doing so he and his ancestor would reap spiritual blessings based on faith. Lot because of his choice based on greed would eventually loose almost everything he had. Division and choices based on greed will not work, unless it is extra scoop of ice cream and then it adds weight to the waistline. Throughout Israel history division always came from greed or popularity, never from God. God never desired to see division among family or friends. Godly choice is saying go ahead to your friend make your choice and if he should base it on what he sees then he no friend. If he bases on the direction God wants him to go then he friend if you are a believer too.
Matthew 12:24-29 KJV (24) But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. (25) And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: (26) And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? (27) And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. (28) But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. (29) Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
Pharaoh though he understood that the plagues were from God by his own magicians, he would not go against his own religious leaders.
Exodus 8:19 KJV (19) Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
Jesus no doubt brought division to the House of God and to religion but not to faith. Were the religious leaders about wealth or about leading people to God. Their division amongst themselves of who Jesus was clear. However in the story of Pharaoh it was clear pharaoh would not give up the false for the truth, yet he knew what the truth was. If you ever been in a religious debate on factors of faith and what scripture says one can see the word solely as a dividing line between groups of people. The devil will stick with the devil and the believer will stick to the truth of God. To decide to fight for the winning side you divide yourself from those who do not. Even the devil knows he will not win, but his house will not divide, unless someone switches sides.
If Jesus is casting out devils he not tearing out his kingdom but getting rid of the trouble makers. Now the next few verse has to do with blaspheme. Blaspheme I covered probably in another study, however I am covering it here as well. Most people don’t know about the if factor. It discussed here.
Matthew 12:30-32 KJV (30) He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. (31) Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. (32) And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Almost everyone in the world has not believed God’s word at sometime or other. The Son of man is Jesus. He is also the Son of God. However He is known as the Word of God and is God, by the Holy Spirit being the same Spirit as God, but what will be forgiven is those who believe not the Messiah. See the Jews hearts were harden like Pharaoh against Jesus and many that did not believe now would believe later after the resurrection. Many do not believe who Jesus is until evaluation of who Jesus is. However most that believe in God never come to a point of blaspheming God for the understand God is powerful and in control. To blaspheme is to deny God exist. Can atheist become a believer. He can but I think there several factors over looked. Was what he taught what he believed without weighing the matter? Many people believe in God and never weighed the matter why they believe in God but they do. Well there many that do not believe that never really thought beyond that belief system. Pharaoh did not deny God existence, just did not surrender to God’s power till the last plague.
Psalms 14:1 KJV (1) To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Proverbs 9:10-11 KJV (10) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. (11) For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
Ezra 8:22 KJV (22) For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
Isaiah 1:15-28 KJV (15) And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. (16) Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; (17) Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. (18) Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (19) If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: (20) But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. (21) How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers. (22) Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water: (23) Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them. (24) Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies: (25) And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin: (26) And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city. (27) Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness. (28) And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.
Those that do not believe in God are destroy. That blaspheme against Holy Spirit. To deny the word of God is not the same to deny God. Even the devil believes in God, but not obey God’s word. Pharaoh only obeyed God after the first born were killed. Lot obeyed God in Sodom and it would save his life when he found himself in a city that was corrupt and perished for its sin. Yet his wife would look back in disobedience to God and became a pillar of salt. Faith and salvation comes through belief in God and His Word. Jesus is the Word that became flesh. Do you believe in God and His Son. It is a choice.
