The Prophecy Revealed In Matthew
Lesson Forty-nine: by Christina Farris

Just because we do not see outward sign of wealth does not mean there is not growth. Often times what we ourselves sees and perceives is different
then what God sees. Often times we do land up cutting off those things that we perceive to be unfruitful in our life by the Holy Spirit. Asking God to
remove those things that are unholy in our lives. Let us begin our lesson today with the above thoughts in mind as we look at the story of the fig tree.

Matthew 21:18-22 KJV
(18)  Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
(19)  And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee
henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
(20)  And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
(21)  Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree,
but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
(22)  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

What do fruit trees produce in scripture is spiritual. However are fruit trees mentioned in the Old Testament.

Ezekiel 17:22-24 KJV
(22)  Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a
tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent:
(23)  In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all
fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.
(24)  And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree,
and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it.

Psalms 78:47 KJV
(47)  He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost.

Isaiah 34:2-4 KJV
(2)  For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the
slaughter.
(3)  Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
(4)  And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth
off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

Jeremiah 8:13 KJV
(13)  I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that
I have given them shall pass away from them.

If you have not figure things out yet, Trees that are good are not cast out but bad trees are. What makes a tree bad is their evil ways. There evil ways
are shown by their fruits. They cast that evil fruit out. I bought some peaches the other day, not one peach was bad, however there are times when you
buy a bag of fruit and in the middle of them is a rotten piece of fruit and if you do not remove it, it will destroy the whole basket before that fruit can be
eaten.

To be cast out of a group of people is telling the whore of a church to leave. A whore in a church is one that teaches falsely only to deceive and destroy
a church. A whore is not necessarily one that has many lovers, but this type of behavior is not acceptable among leaders. However one lover, one mate
does nt make a person a whore. A whore has many lovers. The whore in Revelations sits on a mountain and is cast into the sea.

Micah 7:19 KJV
(19)  He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

To go a whoring is to sin. A time Jesus said was coming that you will say to this mountain  be thou removed and cast in the sea, it will be removed.

Matthew 21:21-22 KJV
(21)  Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree,
but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
(22)  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Remember if you ask God to move a mountain also ask for it to be cast into the sea. See there something people fail to understand everyone has to live
in the world, in other words they live in the middle of sin, but not doing the sin. However some do partake of the sin. Here is the thing, one is living in
the world, but not dong the things of the world as a testimony to bare fruit, yet if one is living as the world it bares bad fruit.

If you got two people in sever pain and one is bearing love and the other hate, the one baring love is going to produce love. However what happens if
the Christian acts like the world, it produces bad fruit. However God does not cut off that Christian for bad fruit, God chastises and cuts off evil fruit. If
that tree still does not bear it is then cast completely out. It withers up like the fig tree in Matthew.

Matthew 21:19 KJV
(19)  And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee
henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

Jesus finishes talking about mountain moving to the sea and also about fig trees with these words.

Matthew 21:22 KJV
(22)  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

The best policy is to pray when we have a problem and allow God to move it, by trying to do it ourselves it causes harm and not good. It causes
destruction. Allow God to move the problems as well as send people forth to catch fish for Him.

Jesus is question about what authority He does these things in the very next passage. One has to remember business people cut off those that do
produce fruit in their occupation. However even business go through dry periods. Christ business always produces good fruit, but His business is
dealing with both good and bad fruit. If a once productive tree was producing good fruit it then only produces bad it needs to be destroyed. This is
common in the business world even among non Christians. Pharisees are asking what authority does He do what he is doing. And Jesus replies asking
what was John the Baptist.

Matthew 21:23-27 KJV
(23)  And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what
authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
(24)  And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these
things.
(25)  The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will
say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
(26)  But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
(27)  And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

Here is a rule a thumb among Christians and non Christians they both can produce good and bad fruit, God knows the heart. However if someone
claims to be a devil he probably is. Then again maybe not. The problem with evangelism is it produces fruit rapidly, but even Christ taught his disciples
for three years before going to the cross. Evangelist does not make a good pastor often times though they can pastor, because they looking for fruit the
production in a church. However pastors know there time of drought. A good pastor understand these things. Evangelist need to remember how long it
took for themselves to grow up in the Lord. Next week we are going to talk about obedience. However there is something to remember about this
weeks lesson and that is fruit production and non fruit production. Those things that are not producing is going to be cut off. Remember we do not have
to take action, we have to allow God to do the cutting, for he also anoints it with oil for healing until he cuts the whole tree down.
