The Prophecy Revealed In Matthew
Lesson Thirty-Five: by Christina Farris

Walking through the mall with only twenty bucks to spend, one might be extra careful what they purchase. In fact might walk through that whole mall,
and back tracking to get that one item one wants upon seeing it. Most of us have shopped for item we want and desire. Today we talking about heaven
and how precious the children of God are. We got to remember God choice us, but we still have to receive to be a child of God. Our price as been paid
at Calvary the cost of one man’s life, His name is Jesus, who was and is the Son of God and rose again the third day. The cross must of appeared to be
the end of the story to some, but when Christ rose from the grave that began the story of hope and everlasting life with Jesus through faith.

God searches the globe for those that will believe. He searches like a diver does for a huge clam shell, with a value pearl in it.  Let us continue today’s
our lesson in Matthew 13 and we will be finishing the chapter today. We will be continuing to compare passage of old and New did God teach what
Christ taught?

Matthew 13:44-46 KJV
(44)  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth
all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
(45)  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
(46)  Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

One must remember that Israel was God’s chosen people in the Old Testament because they chose to live according to God’s instruction, however this
did not exclude foreigners. For Rahab the harlot believe God. Ruth a foreigner believed God. God not a God that segregates, however no doubt when
Israel leaders taught it seemed as if God did segregate who was allowed to follow and believe in God. However because we are talking Old Testament
and to a particular group of people it seems it was only for Israel. No that further from the truth and that why Jesus had to come. God is a God to the
gentiles as well. Let continue.

Psalms 135:4 KJV
(4)  For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

Psalms 33:8-22 KJV
(8)  Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
(9)  For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
(10)  The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
(11)  The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
(12)  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
(13)  The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
(14)  From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
(15)  He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
(16)  There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
(17)  An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
(18)  Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
(19)  To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
(20)  Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
(21)  For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
(22)  Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

Deuteronomy 7:6-10 KJV
(6)  For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that
are upon the face of the earth.
(7)  The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
(8)  But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with
a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
(9)  Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his
commandments to a thousand generations;
(10)  And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

Exodus 19:5-6 KJV
(5)  Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the
earth is mine:
(6)  And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

1 Peter 2:9-11 KJV
(9)  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called
you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
(10)  Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
(11)  Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Now Let us return to Matthew.

Matthew 13:47-50 KJV
(47)  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
(48)  Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
(49)  So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
(50)  And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

These verse above are speaking about those chosen by God and those that are not. Through out Old Testament one can learn a spiritual truth what is to
be a child of God. A Child of God and not part thrown away. A fisher men on a boat must go through all the catch of the day and separate good from
bad. On the day of Christ return the angels of heaven will be separating good from the bad. However until that day comes they are to remain together.
After all the sea is huge and not until that net is draws both in does it determine who dies and who lives. Why should we chose before Christ returns who
should live and who should die. If it was up to us everyone would enter heaven even if we did not like them, but we might not let them in our group of
friends. The hoarer of what we see in todays devastations around the world is like what it will be like when Christ return’s. However it does not mean
those dying today did not have the hope of salvation. It is not our place to judge now. However a day is coming when we will be reigning with Christ.

Nineveh in the book of Jonah repented only to later be destroyed because they did not continue in the ways of God. If men are wicked like in the days
of Noah Genesis chapter 6 then God is going to save the one man and seven of his family that believed and slay the rest. Some say that not a choice then
if you want to live, you have to believe and obey God. Maybe it just not the choice you want. It is the choice God gives though. Believe in Jesus or face
the consequences called death for eternity. Let look at a few verses.

Isaiah 49:6-8 KJV
(6)  And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give
thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
(7)  Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of
rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
(8)  Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee
for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

Zechariah 14:11-14 KJV
(11)  And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
(12)  And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while
they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
(13)  And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his
neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
(14)  And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in
great abundance.

Matthew 13:51-52 KJV
(51)  Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.
(52)  Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which
bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

God never attended for us to forsake the past lessons of His people. We are to teach both Old and New Testament. We can learn a lot about our own
faith through studying both Old and new Testament. However some believe only the four gospels are necessary to learn and though they might be some
of the most important books in the Bible they are not all that God wants to teach us. If you have a photo album you have a picture of history and stories
to tell. And in these pictures tell about people. What they wore and what they look like and what they stood in front or behind to have a picture taken, or
what they held, or treasured. I once looked at a picture of a man and his friends. The picture was important because it spoke of this being more
important to Him then His family. This picture sat on is desk and though he had family pictures were no where to be seen. One day the man family
showed up and he had no time for them, yet he made time for his friends. Minister are often this way. No time for family only for those they are
witnessing and sharing the gospel with. Most people would rather have there family on their desk and those things of value most surrounding them and
not to exclude friends, but an order to value. All of God’s people are his family if they follow Him.

Matthew 13:53-57 KJV
(53)  And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.
(54)  And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this
man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
(55)  Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
(56)  And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
(57)  And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

Jesus was welcome where they knew Him not. Think about it. Yet those that knew Him did not believe Him, because they were use to Him. If you ever
went through backsliding you know what it is to come home to God. For God chastens those He loves. However those in Christ home town were use to
Jesus being different and thought nothing of it. However something else had concurred Jesus was teaching in the synagogues and perhaps had not done
so before and could not believe that He spoke these words.  Jesus response is a prophet is not received in His own hometown. This offend His
hometown. I think it was because they were use to seeing Jesus as different, and could not perceive God working in Christ life that made the transition
hard. Ministers can never speak successfully to the generation they grew up with. In fact it makes it hard for them to minister too. Yet maybe they are the
best to minister to because they can keep you humble.
