The Prophecy Revealed In Matthew
Lesson Seven: by turtle

Let us continuing in this lesson with the sermon on the mount taught by Jesus. Many hid their faith and desire not to allow it
to shine. Some people love to let the light of Jesus shine and others try to prevent the light of Christ from shining forth.
However is allowing God’s light in the old testament? What does it mean.

Matthew 5:13-16 KJV
(13)  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for
nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
(14)  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
(15)  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the
house.
(16)  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Exodus 12:48-49 KJV
(48)  And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised,
and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat
thereof.
(49)  One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

Exodus 22:20-21 KJV
(20)  He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
(21)  Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

There are many rules not followed today that were followed in the Old Testament. However there were rules for those that
were not Jewish by faith in the land of Israel as well as rules for men who desire to follow the faith of Jews. One reminder is
how Egypt allowed Jews to worship their God even though they were strangers in a strange land. The unwritten rule of the
Jones some might say is when in Rome be Roman and when in Greece be a Greek. Only time this would change is when it
implied to faith in God and the worship of idols. People who lived in Israel were not required to go to the temple if they were
not of faith, however they were expected to respect the Holy day. Use to be what some called a blue law on the Sabbath in
many towns and villages because our nation was a Christian nation. It required no one to work on the Sabbath. However even
I am as guilty as the next at shopping on Sunday. The Sabbath was a day of honoring God. God seems to have no day of
honor anymore among many. However as a Christian we should honor God everyday. However under Jews rules of the land
people of other tribes were expect to obey the rules of Israel, however over time this changed with rebellion of Israel people
and the forsook the ways of God.

Isaiah 9:2 KJV
(2)  The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them
hath the light shined.

Isaiah 42:6-7 KJV
(6)  I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant
of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
(7)  To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Only way to share the God in a positive manner is through gently demonstrating the love of Christ. However one can expect
Bible discussions in a church or when online on a Christian site to be of strictly Bible. However outside the church one can
expect just enjoy life and sharing God’s light with people through caring and demonstrating love. None of us do it perfectly.
We all have off days, our tempers flair or attitude stinks. We loose our cool. However by sharing the light of Christ we have
obligation to walk in love of Christ and be willing to deal with the failing of our brothers and sisters in Christ and of the world.
None of us get it right all the time. However do we allow the grace God gave us in regards to others. Are we hiding our faith
because we do not measure up. Do we hid our love instead of bringing forth so it can bear fruit. Love of God can not be hid
if you are a Christian something got to change in our life, it just can not be contained.

One more portion of the sermon on the mount.

Matthew 5:17-20 KJV
(17)  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
(18)  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be
fulfilled.
(19)  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least
in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
(20)  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall
in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Some think I am a little radical in the way I teach. That is okay. Some might think I am a little tough, however many of us
know scripture, however do we do it. And I say not all the time. Israel had that problem and because of the problem false
teachers arose that lead many people astray from the word of God. Many people followed the prophets and not God. That is
the downfall of Christianity as well. They follow the prophets and ministers and not Christ. They look to the man that seems
so perfect behind their pulpits failing to see the human factor behind them. Most ministers are taught to not allow their
imperfections to show. In fact to keep those imperfection covered. However the line is crossed when a minister says it is okay
to sin. It never okay, however it is okay to say I am not perfect, follow God. Sometimes we expect to much out of our
leaders. Yes ministers are called by God, but they are human. God is still working on a many of ministers. If you know a
minister that is failing help him up instead of tearing him apart. Even I fail.
