The Prophecy Revealed In Matthew
Lesson Four: by turtle

Chapter four of Matthew is one of the most noted passages in the Bible for it deals with the temptation of Jesus. However what
has been said to God before in ancient past has been said to God. Satan been testing God and man through centuries. Nothing is
knew in this regard. Satan loves provoking God. However humans are just as bad at provoking God with questions concerning
God’s ability. Who are we to order God about. Our humble quest in seeking God and seeking a response is not tempting God.
We become like Satan if we tempt God with His power. Meaning commanding His power to do. Humans request to God should
be according to God’s will and word. In other words what has God promised to do already. Abraham when he made request to
God concerning the fact he had no heir, God spoke his promise would be fulfilled. Abraham would rely on God’s word to
receive the promise after a few attempts of trying to make God word happen himself.

There is a constant power struggle that actually already defeated. Why God allows or puts up with this is really unclear.
However Satan is already defeat and one day will be locked away for eternity. However I believe these points I am making need
clarifying. Meaning lets exam Matthew 4 and other passages. Prophecy is often repeated from one era to the next, so the
prophetic message might be on going yet might not be the era in which the prophecy was meant for. Meaning one has to search
scripture carefully. Let’s begin.

Matthew 4:1-4 KJV
(1)  Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
(2)  And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
(3)  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
(4)  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the
mouth of God.

Satan ask Jesus can though make stone into bread. This is testing to see who Christ is. Jesus replies Man can not live by bread
alone but by every word the proceeded out of the mouth of God. I was talking with a friend about fasting. Different cultures
have different views of fasting. Even Christians around the globe of different views on fasting. Some when they fast from
certain types of food, or they fast until evening as the Muslims do. However fasting forty days seems like impossible feat for
man. Yet Elijah on the run was given enough food for his journey.

1 Kings 19:3-8 KJV
(3)  And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his
servant there.
(4)  But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for
himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
(5)  And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
(6)  And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and
drink, and laid him down again.
(7)  And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is
too great for thee.
(8)  And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount
of God.

Christ forty days without food had already been done by God in the prophet Elijah. This was done by the power of God who
provided through a minister the food Elijah needed. Fasting seems long when thought of forty days. Many people have died
fasting for periods for periods of time just to loose weight. Yet every culture seems to have rules on fasting. Yet Christ went
without food for forty days because He was the Word of God. Meaning He needed not food to fulfill God’s prophecy. God
needs us not to fulfill His Word. Rocks are often a depiction of people to build God’s kingdom, yet God needs us not to build a
wall. The wall in reference to Jerusalem city is a symbol of the fortress of God’s people. God asked Ezekiel can these bones be
raised. Ezekiel response was only you know Lord. That is our response to God, only you know Lord. Satan response is to
prove it. Devil is often trying to prove God’s word. Yet God already proved His Word. He need not to make bread from stone.
In fact that would be false. For see Bread is a symbol of God’s word. Stone a symbol of man. Man can not be bread for
vultures yet devil tries and make man bread. Man for centuries have tried to make themselves into God. Yet man can not.
Every star can fall. Every minister will die until the rapture takes place. Then we will see the wrath of God and a new city being
built.

God told Noah to build ark, Noah did not say I am going to build and ark because I need protection against that bad storm
coming. I seen on the news a few years ago of the preparation man was making of all the seeds in the world being in ice box, I
think it was in Antarctica. Now when I seen this on NBC, I thought this was interesting, yet if God created can and destroy will
God not supply the means to rebuild. His God providing for the end of time His people. One must remember the heaven and
earth will pass away. Man’s efforts mean very little. However it might help in a disaster to rebuild a country. However I planted
several different types of gardens this year. Some in pots, and some in a garden bed in the ground. That which grew in the
ground did descent but not great and that which was planted in buckets did very little or not at all. Point is we can not make
seeds grow, all we can do is put them in the soil and water them, we can not make them grow.  God’s word is seed and water,
but God can only give the increase.

1 Corinthians 3:7 KJV
(7)  So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

God can sustain man in a long fast through His Word. If God says it will be, it will be. God need not to make stone into bread
for a meal. This was the first temptation of Satan.

Second temptation of Satan is does Christ can cause himself to sin by obeying Satan.

Matthew 4:5-7 KJV
(5)  Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
(6)  And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge
concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
(7)  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Do we need to obey Satan to prove God can protect us. Of course not. However that is what we do when we continue to sin, is
leap from the mountain of God and trample His people. We all succumb to peer pressure to some degree. It hard for man to
follow God’s word to a tee. See we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. Yet God will give us victory over sin and death.
His word declares it. Christ has received this victory already for us. No prophet ever could but many were made righteous
because of faith in God’s word. Abraham believed God’s word though he succumbed to temptation. However one has to
believe God. When we see prophecy fulfilled through Christ His Son do we believe or do we say it never happened or Christ
was just a prophet and not the Word of God. These are all lies of Satan. Christ came in the flesh and His the Word of God. The
fact we make mistakes backs the Word of God that none of us are perfect, yet it does not mean we should sin. God called us to
be holy people.

1 Peter 3:8-14 KJV
(8)  Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
(9)  Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye
should inherit a blessing.
(10)  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
(11)  Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
(12)  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against
them that do evil.
(13)  And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
(14)  But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

The Third Temptation of Jesus is wealth. I find this actually ludicrous, who can give Jesus wealth it already His, for He inherits
all things.

Luke 1:33 KJV
(33)  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Satan tried to give to Jesus what was already rightfully His.

Matthew 4:8-11 KJV
(8)  Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the
glory of them;
(9)  And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
(10)  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only
shalt thou serve.
(11)  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Satan can not take something that is already promised to you by God. However there is a story of a man that gave up all his
fruit trees only to find in his new home plenty of trees that produced good crops. If for a time you should loose the blessing of
God, God will restore you. Example is Job. Job was righteous before God and yet the devil shifted him. Only for God to
restore. Israel did not seek God during the famine, but instead went to Egypt for food, However God already provided the way
of escape through man of faith in Isaac’s son Joseph. Do not freight what man will do God provision will be enough if you seek
Him. Do not allow Satan to steal His promise to you that is rightfully yours. Hold on to His word. Ask and it will be given. Seek
and ye shall find and knock and the door shall be open to you.
