The Prophecy Revealed In Matthew
Lesson Fifty-Two: by turtle(Christina Farris)

This week lesson I want to back track over a verse that was not compared to Old Testament Prophesy. This verse is important. to understand. However
there is something more important here to grasp and that is God’s purpose and plan for redeeming us. Many people believe Jesus was at least a teacher or
prophet, and others say He lived, but do not give Him deity status. An individual does not make Jesus God, but receive Jesus as the Son of
God/Lord/God. God gave status to Jesus. However that status was His from the beginning. However many scholars and people fail to accept Jesus as
Lord, in doing so He becomes a rock of offense to some and others Christ will simply judge. Now let us look at the verse.

Matthew 21:44 KJV
(44)  And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Isaiah 8:12-17 KJV
(12)  Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
(13)  Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
(14)  And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the
inhabitants of Jerusalem.
(15)  And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
(16)  Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
(17)  And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

Rock of offense is Christ He became the chief cornerstone for the church. One can not worship a beam of wood, but one can take pride in the cross. The
cross meaning the willingness of our Savior to lay His life down for you and I, so we might have eternal life. Yet to the Jews Christ was a stumbling stone
for they understood not who Jesus was. They understood not He was the Word of God that became flesh. Yet David in Psalms 110 had a vision of seeing
two Lords sitting on the throne. If the word did not become flesh till the time of Christ how can this be. Christ was from the beginning John 1:1. Imaginary
we see in the Old Testament came in a form we could understand. Christ the word of God came to man in the Old Testament in spiritual since, not in a
fleshly since, unless obeyed. Yet when Christ in the flesh he was both spiritual and reality form of the Word. For after all Jesus was the Spirit of Prophesy.
Jews would stumble at the prophecy, for they were taught to only bow to one God. To see in a vision as David had seen was not fully understandable, for
there is only one God. Yet when we understand that Christ the word of God was present from the beginning, and we see Him as being a person, we can
grasp the reality of who Jesus is as the Word that came in human flesh. As a baby begins to speak his first words and coos coming forth. So was God
words coming forth not in saliva as a baby gurgles will, but in a form we would understand. God spoke the word and it became light. The Day and Night
were separated. And God spoke the words and it became flesh in the form of earth and water. The earth was not God. However the Word was because
it had life of its own. It had the ability to create, but it had to be spoken by God and to go forth by God’s Spirit. The breath of God going forth to create,
Just like God breath covered Mary to form God Son who was fully God and fully human. God’s breath is Holy, Spirit in the Hebrew means breath. The
breath of prophesy coming forth in the form of His Son, yet the Word already existed as Lord. God gave the Word authority from the beginning. To see
the manifestation of the Word of God in the flesh was beyond comprehension, for the word was made destructible. Yet God’s word had always been
destructible. See what always trumpet God’ Word was God’s grace and mercy. Despite what man did to God in the since of disobedience if man
repented God would forgive and often remove judgment. We ourselves could not change God’s plan, but His mercy and grace to all that would believe
and repent was always there. Yet Christ found himself being crucified in the flesh and because of this men like Jonah question God about His mercy and
grace. God gave grace when Christ died for our sins, for He gave us eternal life breaking his word that we would taste death. We are told if we will look
to Jesus we will saved.

John 3:13-15 KJV
(13)  And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
(14)  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
(15)  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

It not easy to obey God’s word, it is often a stumbling block to many and many have questioned God about His mercy and grace. However without God
grace/love we have no hope of eternity. Christ died so we all could have eternal life. Enoch was translated, Abraham was called righteous because He was
a friend of God and believed. Noah received grace when his family was saved from the flood. Yet instead of bring his Son to reign on the throne, He gave
grace and allowed His Son to die. Yet on the third day God Word lived. Coming up from the ground by Christ’s power. Yet Christ soul went to hell to set
the captives free and then renewed to His body and transformed His body into incorruptible flesh. Christ walked the earth demonstrating how to live. Yet
His was offense to many Jews, yet there were some that followed. God’s Word now judges our heart, soul and mind until our earthly death unless Christ
return’s before that time.

Now the good part though God gave the Word to the Gentiles, Christ was for all mankind. However some are crushed/judged by God’s word and others
stumble in disbelief of  It better to believe God’s word and become part of the body of Christ then to be judged by God’s word for disbelief. We all
stumble at times, but God wants us to be made sturdy and it starts by believing in God and His Word/Son of God. For one verse I have already said a lot,
but I want to explain why God’s word is so precious. Why God’s Word reigns. Sometimes people do not believe God’s word all at once, but it takes
time to grow. As  a person grows God continues to teach our hearts through His Spirit.
